Ghirardelli Scallop Candy holder/Place cards

For last night's dinner, I made these cute Ghirardelli Scallop holders that I saw on Splitcoast but I made them into place cards for guests!  Check out http://www.frenchiestamps.com/2011/0...free-note.htm
for more instructions.  They are made with the sizzix big scallop die and adhesive.  That is basically all you need.  I used Stampin up DP for the paper.  This was perfect because of the two sided designs which make them so pretty. The flowers gave it a nice finished touch!   I put them on the napkin pictured below for the guests!  You really can't get any easier than that!! Enjoy!

Here are some more pictures from the Birthday Party! We did have a lot of fun!  Disney crazies!  Russ and Connie left for Florida today.  Russ arrived last night with his shorts  and Disney shirt ready for the trip!  They left this morning early at 6:30 a.m.  with 2 inches of snow on the ground and still snowing.  They should arrive in Orlando on Tuesday morning, hopefully with full sunshine and no snow!!!!

Birthday/Disney Dinner with Cindy, Dave and Shamus

Tonight we celebrated Cindy's Birthday!  What fun!  Since we are all Disney Lovers, we had to wear something from Disney.  Cindy's favorite is Donald Duck.  Her gift was a Donald Duck bead for her Troll bracelet! and (you can't tell from the picture)  she has a Donald Duck T-shirt on!  Her cake had Donald Duck on it too!  My husband, Mark, did most of the cooking which was yummy with beef tips, rice pilaf, carrotts with ginger, salad and asian salad.  Next it was dessert, of course, cake and ice cream!

Cindy was able to blow out all the candles on  her cake!  Well done!!!!   Can't wait for next year, Cindy!

Happy Birthday, Cindy!

Today we are celebrating my good friend, Cindy's Birthday!  It is a special one but I can't tell you the number, but it is special!  Since one of her favorite things to do is shop. I thought the side step card with the bureau would be perfect! This card was fun to make and I am sure I will make more! I used sizzix dies for the pocketbook and shoe as well as the stand for the mirror. Nesties for the mirror. The inside of the mirror is metal and it worked great!  I can't quite see myself but the glare is there.  What more does a woman want?  Pearls, lace, pocketbook, shoes! Jackie does a great job of showing how to make this side step card at http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addict...-tutorial.html

Brown-eyed Susan

My husband's aunt who lives in Florida will turn 94 in March and she loves these flowers. I happened to see this card on ebay and thought it would be a great card for her.  I wish I could give the person credit for this card  but I don't remember the person's name.  I used the scallop punch from SU and embossed them with the cuttlebug swiss dot.  I cut each scallop to show the different petals.  Then I sponged the edges of the petals with SU choc chip.  For the center I used SU word window punch and cut off the tip.  The leaf is from SU bird punch and the stem is hand made. What is a flower without Martha Stewart butterfly punch? Love it!  The "Happy Birthday" stamp is from SU well scripted.

My blog shows a picture of Black eyed Susans from my backyard which goes around the yard and are in bloom in the late summer to early fall.  They are beautiful!

Just for You

My niece, Kristen, just had surgery and wanted to send her a card that would brighten up her spirits.  She is doing well but surgery is always difficult.  I bought this stamp set, Just Believe,  back in November and haven't had a chance to use it until now.  The background is sponged with Night of Navy from SU and the image is stamped with the same.  MS punch was used for the decorative edge. Light blue ribbon, pearls and MS butterfly punch was used for the accessories along with nestabilities for the oval shapes.  I hope Kristen enjoys and continues to do better!  Love you Kristen!

First and Last Day at Epcot

The first day and the last day Cindy and I spent at Epcot.  We also spend another afternoon there because there was so much to see and do.  My favorite was the World Showcase but for a ride it would have to be Soarin!  Soarin was the first ride and the last ride that we rode.  I think it also has the best food since you can have pizza in Italy and Fish & Chips in England.  You have to try the Chinese food in China! And don't forget the french pastry!
Another "cool" thing we did was try some beverages from different countries.  This was at "Club Cool".  You need to try this!  Some very interesting tastes!

Believe it or not!  We saw the Beatles in England! and it was only standing room only!  Unfortunately, we came at the end of their performance but what we heard they were amazingly close to the originals!!!  Just loved it all!!!

Magic Kingdom - Day 2 and 3

Yes we arrived at Magic Kingdom late afternoon and it had been raining but rain didn't cramp out style.  It actually made it so that we could go on rides and performances without waiting.  We went to WISHES at night and the lights and fireworks were breathtaking!  Cinderella's castle was amazing, every 10 seconds it would change to different colors.  I have a picture of it in Teal.  Can you believe it TEAL!  Who would ever think of that color!

Casey the Jungle Cruise Captain
My favorite ride at Magic Kingdom has to be the Jungle Cruise because our driver was a comedian.  She was so hilarious!!!  I hope they paid her well because she was outstanding.  One of the passengers asked if she was a "comedian in her previous life".  We tried to get on Space Mountain which I haven't been on since 1979 but it was "out of order" for the day!  Bummer!  But I will return!!!

Favorite at Hollywood Studio

On our second day at Disney, we hit Hollywood Studios (which used to be MGM Studios) and Tower of Terror  is my favorite ride!!!  Cindy and I went on it twice!  The picture shows that they are doing some renovating on the outside but don't hesitate to go on it because it didn't affect the ride at all!  Loved it! I think my second favorite would have to be a tie between Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story.  I loved the songs from Beauty and the Beauty and I liked the fun with Toy Story.  Cindy won the game but I gave her a good run for her money at Toy Story.  Waiting for Toy Story was even fun because it brought back memories of games that we used to play as kids with my siblings.  It was another great day at DisneyWorld.  Tomorrow will be my favorites at Magic Kingdom!!!

My Disney Favorites

Our first full day at Disney, Cindy and I headed to Animal Kingdom and our favorite had to be Festival of the Lion King.  It was a beautiful performance with singing and dancing. The costumes were so colorful and the actor's voices were amazing!   I saw the Lion King on Broadway and Disney did a most creative 1/2 hour version of it.

My second favorite at the Animal Kingdom is the ride at Mount Everest.  If you like roller coaster rides, you will love this one!!

The following day we ventured to Hollywood Studios.  I will post my 2 favorites tomorrow on my blog.
