Another Birthday for Cindy!

This is a perfect card for my good, good friend, Cindy!  Her birthday is tomorrow but my sisters Chris and Connie and I helped her celebrate a little early with lunch at Ruby Tuesday this past Tuesday!  (Hey I just realized we were at Ruby Tuesday's on Tuesday!)  She is in love with Donald Duck and when I saw this card on pinterest I had to make it!  There wasn't any instructions because you had to purchase them and I didn't have time so I did my best to guess at the punches!  I used all SU punches.  I first started with the ornament punch for the base (or head in the background). The eyes were all oval punches and I sponged a little soft sky ink around the pupils which is the word window punch. The beak is the wide oval punch cut down a little to make the beak.  The side cheek is the small oval punch.  The hat is the heart punch and the tab I made myself.  The brim of the hat behind his head I think I used the oval punch or the word window that I had to cut down a little bit. The inside sentiment reads "Hope you have a Ducky Birthday".

Here is Cindy's birthday gift!  Pink is her favorite color and I can see why because it looks beautiful on her. Cindy,  pink is your color for sure! and looks great with her shirt!! Check out below some pictures of Cindy with her "boyfriend" at DisneyWorld!!!

Hubby's Block Valentine!

Candy, candy everywhere!
This is my husband's Valentine card!  My sister, Chris, showed me how to make this block card.  I love how you can fold it and and then mail it!  Super cute idea!  Check out Chris' blog for her block cards.  She also has the link for the video that shows how to do this type of card.

Back of the card
The sentiment says "You hold the key to my heart". I used a lot of different papers from Bo Bunny, Authentique, Stampin up, and Cratepaper.  Love all the Valentine paper out there to decorate with this year. I am definitely going to make a block card again--Love it!!

Valentine Wishes

I have been spending the last few nights making 3 punch art cards for my husband's work.  He has 2 secretaries and Assistant Principal that I made these fun cards.  This kangaroo, I saw on pinterest this card and Dawn gave the instructions for the punches that she used.  So cute!  The inside reads "Hop to a Happy Valentine's Day".

This card, I also saw on pinterest but there were no instructions for the punches used so I gave it my best college try.  I used nestabilities (second to the largest) circle for the head, nestabilities paisley (second to the largest) for the body, ears, around the eyes - build a blossom punch, arms-large oval punch, 1 inch circle punch for the feet, heart-nestabilities (second to the largest).  The inside read "Giving you a bear hug on Valentine's Day".  Again cute!!

Again, I saw this card on pinterest and there wasn't any instructions for the punches that were used so here is what I used.  Head-SU large oval punch, ears-SU 5 petal flower punch,  body-nestabilities paisley, feet-SU framed corners punch, brown on the face-SU curly label punch, tail-SU wide oval punch. I sponged with chocolate chip ink the body, head and feet.  The eyes and nose were small circle punches and I free handed the nose and whiskers.  The inside sentiment read "Hope your Valentine's is the cat's meow".

I loved doing these cards for my husband's work especially when I have a theme--punch art animals!!  The sentiments were a little corny but they work!!  Hope everyone is having a great Valentine's Day!  Tomorrow, I will put my husband's card on my blog. Check out below the picture of all the cards together!  Enjoy!

"Love you much"

This is the Valentine's Day card I made for my mom!  I love the background paper it reminds me of the little conversational hearts.  I don't have the name of the paper but I think it is Bo Bunny but I could be wrong.  The cascading hearts are from Memory box  and the sentiment hearts are nestabilities.  The sentiment "love you much is from SU, well scripted.  Red, white, pink and black Valentine's Day card, simple and cute!

Hearts, Hearts and More Hearts

I remember when I was in elementary school we would use white doilies to make Valentine's Day cards and this card reminds me of it.  The white paper doily just screams Valentine's Day to me!! I love this paper from cratepaper.  It is such a pretty background paper.  The layers of hearts are spellbinders and the lacey heart is from Cheery Lynn Designs, so pretty!!  It is hard to see but I sponged the banner from Spellbinders with the pink Distress Ink from Ranger/Tim Holtz.

This card is really a trifold and the second page has more hearts from Spellbinders and a glittered, sticker, red heart that I had.  SU sentiment "love you much" added. Below is a picture of the third page or inside of the card which has the sentiment and, of course, more hearts with a large green leaf die from Dee's Distinctively.  Dee's Distinctively is a new line for me which I love!!

I made 2 of these cards which I am sending to my son and his girlfriend  and the other one is for my daughter. I had so much fun making these during the Blizzard that we had over the weekend here in the Northeast.  Maybe Blizzards aren't so bad because it keeps me in my craftroom creating!!  Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!

Housewarming Card

My nephew and his girlfriend, Kristin just bought a house together and just last weekend got engaged!! We are all so very happy for them both!  Tomorrow was suppose to be their housewarming party but because of this blizzard in the Northeast they had to postpone the party until March.  I have been working on their card all week and finally finished it today during the storm.  Perfect day to spend time in my craftroom and watch the snow fall.  I was looking at my flower pot cards that I made a long time ago and got this house idea from them.  I cut a piece of cardstock measuring 4 1/2 by 9 inches.  The 9 inch side I scored in cut at 4 1/2.  Then I embossed one side of the 4 1/2 side which is the front of the house.  I sponged the front of the house with Close to Cocoa to make the siding stand out more.  Added the windows, door and fence with some grass.  The flowers are prima with a little bling in the middle.

Just pop off the roof and the sentiment reads, "It takes hands to build a house but only hearts can build a home" Author Unknown   I added the roof and the chimney which is embossed with Tim Holtz brick EF.  The chimney is sponged with red distressed ink from Ranger.

So now this will have to wait until March to give them this card. Let's hope all the snow will be melted by then.  We are expecting to get between 1-2 feet of snow, maybe more!   Hope everyone in the Northeast stays safe and warm tonight!! Thanks for stopping by!
