Birthday for Manya!

Just a quick post on a card I made for my co-worker's daughter!  She loves the cards I make for her mom so I thought I would make a card for her!  Manya loves her little chihuahua, Sweetie!! Here is my take on Manya's sweet little "Sweetie"!!

I used punches from SU.  Modern label punch for the front legs, tab punch for the hind legs, oval and round punches for the head and I used 5 petal punch for the inside of the years and the small oval for the outside of the ears.  The hair between his ears is actually the grass die from Die-namics which you can see in this picture too!  The design paper is from SU.  I wish I had sponged his head and ears with dark brown but I was in a hurry because I just found out it was her birthday.  Oh well!

The card is a stair step card and I used Petaloo flowers to decorate with MS butterfly punch.  It is hard to see but on the stair step is a small gift made with MS bow punch and a little red pearl for a little bling.  The balloons are from Martha Stewart too.

Picture of the card all done!  Hope she gets a kick out of her card! Happy Birthday Manya!!

Wanted to share this picture of my ground phlox!  It has grown so over the past few years.  Pretty soon it will be up to my little bunny!  This is a sure sign that summer is just around the corner when the phlox is in bloom.

Memorial Day was early this year. It seems to surprise us so I am considering this Memorial Week! Thank you for all the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country! Bless the USA!

Snow White's Fan

Today is my Mom's 86th birthday!  I am so in awe of her!  She and my dad had 8 kids and I don't know how they got through all those teenage years with us!! LOL!  I remember my mother telling me that one of her favorite movies that she saw when she was young was Disney's Snow White and she loved it.  I had to make this Snow White dress for her.  It is done with punches and Spellbinders nestabilities.    I found this card on pinterest and knew it was for Mom.  I didn't have everything that was needed so I had to improvise.  The skirt is done with nestabilities ovals and circles.  The red on the sleeves is actually used from a corner punch --pieces that I punched out.  I didn't have a punch for it so I had to look around for it.

We gave her a gift card from Macy's so I made this card into a gift card.  I just added a side pocket on the inside right with the sentiment on the left.  Love doing punch art!  Happy Birthday to the Best Mother I could have!!

Another Graphic 45 Easel Card

I have a long list of summer birthday cards to make.  Since I made one of these for my mother for Mother's Day, I decided to make another one for a friend's birthday in June. Botanical Tea Graphic 45 is such a beautiful collection I used it again.  I am also making a Tim Holtz large folio with the Botanical Tea collection and it coming along great!  I have been watching a few tutorials on different folios and I am incorporating a lot of them in mine.  This card has a lot of the cut aparts from the collection  as well as MS butterfly punch and I also used a bottle cap with a 1 inch punch from the paper.  The flowers are from $1.50 bin at Michael's.   I haven't put the sentiment on it yet but will finish it later.  Just love this collection!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Best Mom Ever!

I just have to start saying that my mother is the best mom ever!  She brought up 8 terrific children who are all adults now.  My sister Terri, passed away 6 years ago and she was an amazing mother, teacher, sister and friend.  My mom took care of  us all and a husband who adored her.  Mom's birthday is next week and she will be 86 and looks terrific!  Although, she wouldn't agree....

The card that I made for her is from Graphic 45's Botanical Tea!  It is such a beautiful collection and so springy that I had to use it for my mom's card.  The easel card design just showcases the gorgeous collection.  I really didn't have to do much because it all goes together perfectly.  I did add some pink flowers from Michael's $1.50 bin and some butterflies with the MS punch.  My mom loves birds and flowers so this card is perfect for her!

Back of the card!
I love this picture of mom.  She was enjoying a story that my husband was telling her.  Love it when she really laughs.  What a wonderful Mother's Day!  Four of her children were able to celebrate with Mom at Macaroni Grill yesterday.  With husbands, grandchildren and one great-grandchild, there were 12 of us in all. Hope everyone had a wonderful day!
