Summer Celebrations

July as well as August are busy birthdays and anniversaries celebrations! This card is for my sister and her husband.  The focus is on butterflies which I have seen all around my yard. They are loving the coneflowers! Happy Anniversary Chris & Tom!

This style card was a fun card to make. It is a Quadruple Z-fold card. I have seen the tutorial on youtube for a couple of different people and thought I would give it a try. Love finding new fun folds especially when there is plenty of room to put your sentiments. This one happens to be a "thank you" for a friend. I used the Ocean Blue Graphic 45's collection and also By the Sea collection.

Thank you for stopping by and I have to leave you with some summer fun! We now have a petting zoo in our pool!

Viking River Cruise Trip

My husband and I have been home for a month since our Viking Cruise. We have been looking at our photos and trying to decide which ones to put in a scrapbook. Since we went with my brother in law and his girlfriend, I'm going to make one for them too! It was a wonderful trip! We were suppose to take this trip back in May of 2020 with 4 other couples but, of course, Covid happened and so it was cancelled. I am so happy to say it was worth the wait! The above map is the ports that we stopped and had tours in each of them.

We arrived in Amsterdam a couple of days before we got on the boat and went on a Canal Tour, visited the Ryijks Museum (which we spent most of the day there), and also the "Red Light District".

When we got on the ship, we had unpacked and then had a great dinner on board. Took some photos as we pulled away from Amsterdam. Our first port in the morning would be Kinderdijk. We saw the windmills of the Netherlands. Our tour guide was a local and he was fabulous!

The next day we docked in Mannheim, Germany and took a tour of the Cathedral of Cologne. It was pretty spectacular!

Our next port was Koblenz, Germany in the morning and then Rudesheim late in the afternoon. On Sunday we docked in Speyer, Germany and did a walking tour of the city.

Monday morning we were up early to head to Strasbourg, France to tour the city especially the Notre Dame Cathedral. The universal clock was really amazing!

Tuesday was our last full day on the boat and we docked in Breisach. We took a tour of the Black Forest . It was a 1 1/2 hour bus ride through the countryside and  was able to visit a small village with glass blowing and cuckoo clocks galore.

The next day we disembarked and spent the night in Basel, Switzerland after enjoying an Ethiopian dinner in a restaurant not far from our hotel.  It was an amazing meal. Loved that we could use our hands which is very traditional.

Thursday morning we headed to the train station and took a high speed train to Hamburg, Germany.  The train was very comfortable and it was so smooth for a speed of 156 mph. There were stops along the way so it wasn't the fast the entire way. When we got to Hamburg we checked into our hotel and had dinner in the hotel which was terrific!

Friday, we took a harbor cruise in Hamburg and had a dinner in a pizza restaurant. It was a great way to end an amazing trip. We said good bye to Sandy and Linda and headed to the airport Saturday morning. It was going to be a long trip home. Hamburg to Amsterdam and then Amsterdam to Boston. I think this trip just about every mode of transportation. Starting with a bus ride, airplane, canal boat, river boat, uber cards, and train! I think the only thing we didn't do was helicopter. I would definitely do another one of these river cruises. There was nothing that we didn't like!!!

Summer has Arrived!

May and June has been a busy month for the Petersen household. We left on May 26th for a Viking Cruise which I will show photos later and I wanted to get my cards and projects done before I left. This card is for my sister, Adrianne and her husband Lenny, who have been married for 10 years! Where has the time gone!? I love making these book fold cards especially when you have photos to show. Graphic 45's By the Sea collection was used for this Anniversary card.

I was also busy making favors for "The Greely Girls" get together which was June 18th. We all have a monumental birthday this year. We all turn 70! Again, where has the time gone? We were lucky to have a great day because this spring has been really weird with a lot of rainy days.  Below are photos of the favors for the birthday girls and favors for the husbands. Also a photo of the 7 of us young looking ladies. Love them all!

My next post will be photos of our Viking Cruise which was in a word,  SPECTACULAR! So glad we finally got to go since we were suppose to go in 2020 but as we all know, Covid happened.  Happy July Everyone! It is a beautiful day in Maine today!

One last photo of a poster I made to remind us all what was going on in 1955!
