Repurposed Sunflower

This past winter my husband and I were in Florida visiting friends. They were going to get a new ceiling fan and I saw what I could do with the paddles of their old one. They gave them to me this spring when they got a new one. I love the ridges in each paddle which makes it look like a pedal for a flower or a leaf. I painted each paddle and bolted them together (which wasn't too bad because there were holes already) and then painted the middle. I love how it came out! It is a great fall decoration! Thank you Elas!

I have made this before from Dreamimg Tree last year but wanted to make another one.  It is so cool when it lights up! Love it!

12th of October

Our son's birthday was this past week and I made this musical birthday card for him. He is teaching himself how to play the guitar so I thought this was so appropriate for him. He and his wife have moved to Seattle so I'm sure he hasn't had much time to do it lately but I thought he would get a kick out of this card. Happy Birthday to our favorite son!

I have been busy in my craft room making a few things. Here are some pictures of what I have been working on. The first picture below is a Christmas tree all lit up! So pretty! The second photo is a vase with tulips and a Happy Birthday sign. I wanted to make a birthday gift. Hopefully this will be at our craft fair in November.

Autumn Celebrations

I used my Stampin up set called Beer Brew for a birthday card for a dear friend who has a birthday on the 9th. This is a great set for guys, some girls but mostly guys! LOL!

This style card is a pop out style card which I thought was perfect for just about any celebration. This is an anniversary card for my son and his wife which will be their 3rd Anniversary tomorrow.  I used  a Graphic 45 collection - so pretty!

The back of the card has plenty of room for the sentiment. Love this style card.  Happy Anniversary Sabrina and Eric!

This past weekend was a big weekend for weddings and the weather was beautiful. I wanted to show some pictures of Brady who's mama and papa got married, Saturday October 4th. Brady and Ollie got along very well. They both were so adorable!

October Projects

I saw a picture of these small book folded angels ornaments on facebook and I thought I can do that! I used a paperback book and cut it in half with an X-acto knife. I was able to make these 4 angels from 1 book. Then added the head/beads with twine and the wings are from one page with is folded accordion style. The wings are honey colored ink from Ranger (Tim Holtz). Love them!

Another project that my sisters and I have been doing is jewelry framed art using old jewelry. Love this snowman framed using old watch faces.  I also did a framed paper flowers with jewelry which is pictured below. I would call this mixed media, LOL!

Another Craft Fair

Sisters' Designs is getting ready for another craft fair which is the first Saturday in November at the Italian Heritage Center. I have made some Christmas vignettes. This one was started with wooden blocks that I got from the Dollar Tree. I painted them and added the letters. Love how this one came out!

This one is a wooden sleigh with horse that I have had for many many Christmases. I glued it to a little riser and decorated with ribbon, wreath and some bells.

These little houses light up and I added a bench with some snow. Had to add a Christmas tree in the background. It was fun making these little vignettes. These 3 projects are headed to our Craft Fair. It will be here before you know it.

More Birthday Cards

This is a birthday card for my daughter-in-law's birthday next week. This is a perfect Graphic 45 paper collection to use for her. She is a beautiful girl both inside and out. Happy Birthday Sabrina!

This is a trifold card that I made for a good friend's granddaughter. She and her sister are getting a puppy in a couple of months. They are so excited so I made a punch art dog for her birthday card. Happy Birthday Chloe!

How cute is this little guy?? We will be taking care of Brady in a couple of weeks for his mama and papa because they are getting married. The special day is October 4th and we are so excited to do this for them. He is so adorable and loves being with people. Congratulations to Tara and Matt!

Favorite Daughter's Birthday

Our daughter's birthday was yesterday and I made this card in a box card for her.  She has a beautiful golden retriever and made a cute dog in a box card. I had him holding a heart. Happy Birthday Lindsey!

On the same day, a good friend also has a birthday and her birthday card is below.  Who doesn't love a pink card with flowers!

I couldn't throw away this beautiful leaf shaped bottle. Friends gave us this bottle with maple syrup and it had to be repurposed. I made it into a vase. I have floral in it but because it is glass you could put real flowers in it too. Love the way it came out.

Our First Sept Craft Fair

I have been making a few things this past week for the craft fair that we are having on the September 6th and 7th at the Wells Jr High School. This project is a seashell that I painted and put some transfers on it and then glued it to a painted candlestick.  It makes a cute ring/jewelry holder to put on top of your bureau. I think I'm going to make another one.

Here are some close up pictures of what we have for the craft fair. I know I posted some last week but wanted to show the individual pieces. It is the first time we have done one in September which is gonna be fun because we are able to make some Halloween things.

I made these 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Halloween candy boxes to hand out to treat or treaters.  I'm going to put "Happy Halloween" on the top which I'll do tomorrow.  I think they are a perfect size for Halloween. Hope we have a good turn out this weekend.

End of August!

These accordion cards have so much room for sentiments. I love making them for this reason and it also shows off pretty cardstock like Graphic 45! This one is for my sister. She, my brother and I always were reminded when our birthdays came in August that the school year was just around the corner. The flowers are a punch from Stampin up.
Here is the card opened up and showing more of the beautiful cardstock. Happy Birthday Andrea!

My sisters and I (Sisters Designs) are getting ready for a craft show in Wells, Maine on September 6th and 7th, Saturday and Sunday.  There is papercrafting items for Halloween, Thanksgiving and a little bit of Christmas also some wall art for your home.  Come on over there is free parking and admission. It is at the Wells Jr High School. Can't wait!
