For the Love of Camping

Making a double Z fold birthday card is perfect for any hobby or profession that the person has. It is a fun style and I never get tired of making one. This is for our friend's grandson who loves to camp in his grandparent's RV! They live in Florida but come every June to camp with his grandparents in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The RV is made with my Cricut and the other images are dies that I have from Elizabeth Craft, Stampin up, and Spellbinders. Happy 12th Birthday Caden!

Pop Out Swing Card and Pop up Surprise Cards

This fun fold card is called a Pop Out Swing Card and also a shaker card all in one!! My daughter turned 36 last week and I made this card for her! We had lobsters for her birthday dinner which is always fun to eat. The next card is a Pop Up Surprise Ball Card. The dies are from Karen Burniston. She does the best tutorials for putting these pop up cards together. I made one a couple of years ago and it was a unicorn. Today's card is a cat. Chloe has a cat and she loves all animals but I thought this would be great for her birthday card this weekend. Check out the pictures below.
I didn't make a card for Ollie but his birthday was yesterday. Here is his picture on his birthday! Love him so much!

First Birthday Cards for 2023

This style, Triple Stepper card, was the first for me. I have made the double one but not triple. The paper collection is Graphic 45 safari collection. It is another beautiful collection! Happy Birthday Betti!
I took the back of the card before I added gold balloons. But I wanted to show that there is plenty of space for a sentiment and some embellishments. My second card is for a student of my husband's because they share a birthday date (January 20th). She has given Mark a card since she was in 2nd grade and she is not in her 30's. She is a terrific lady with children of her own and now she facetimes with Mark on their shared birthday. I have made this card before but it is so true of Tia! You Rock Tia!
The above picture is the birthday gift I gave to my husband for his birthday. We have been to 13 National Parks and we love Yellowstone! I got this on Etsy and Mark loved it! I framed it and now it is ready for his office wall. Happy Birthday to my dear husband!!

September Birthdays!

Here are a few cards that I was asked to make for my daughter's friends birthdays. This first one is a Z-fold and is for her friend who has horses. The horses are cut from my cricut and I love how they came out. Happy Birthday Erin!
This card is a card in a box style for her friend who just got a new bike! The bike is a Stampin up stamp set.
Lastly, this is a punch art card for a beer lover. I thought it came out pretty cute!
I finished a kimekomi earlier in the summer to sell on Etsy. It has a gnome on one side and a Christmas tree on the other. The stand does come with it but is not attached. Check out Cooksistersdesigns on Etsy for other items that we have for sale.

Birthday Block Card

These block/cube cards are fun to make. I love the way they fold up and can be easily mailed. This card is for a friend whose birthday is coming up in March and she is in Florida so in the mail it goes! The paper is from Stampin up as well as the flower dies and bumble bees. The daisy is a sizzix die. Eileen loves gardening and especially her flowers so this card is perfect for her. Happy Birthday Eileen!
Closer look at the bumble bee from Stampin up bundle called Honey Bee bundle. The sentiment on the back of the card is from Stampin up's Grace's Garden. Thanks for stopping by. Can't wait for spring!

Anniversary Flip Flap Shutter Card

I love making these cards from Ann Melvin's tutorial. Graphic 45 Love Notes is perfect for Valentine as well as Anniversary. This is an Anniversary card that I made to sell. When it is closed, it does take a big envelope. This card measures 10x5 mostly because of the side holders which opens and closes it. If you didn't have any closures then it would measure 8x5. I used a lot of the cut aparts and stickers that came with the collection.

Another Theater Card

Sentiment on the back

Another theater card as well as another September birthday for a friend's granddaughter.  Chloe loves her cats so I had to make a cat card!  The big cat inside the card is from Elizabeth Craft and the black cats,  I think, are from Memory box.  I did share the link on a prior post when I first started making these style cards so check back a couple of posts back.  Theater cards do have a BIG WOW factor to them! Thanks for stopping by.

Easter Box!

Today I am mailing an Easter surprise for my son and his girlfriend who live in a "hot spot" for the coronavirus, San Francisco area.  I worry about them but my son calls or texts pretty regularly to keep us informed about how they are doing.   Everyone at this point needs their spirits lifted, right!!! I made this drop down box from Mixed Up Crafts for them.  Here is some pictures of the inside of the box.  Graphic 45, Secret Garden is the collection I used for this. I only had a few papers left so I used them up and it is a good springtime collection.

Here is the tutorial that Sam from Mixed up crafts did.  She does a wonderful job explaining this project.    https://www.pinterest.com/pin/34832597107643332/

Also in the Easter Box, I made a quilted tabletop runner for their dining room table.  Eric likes quilted things so I thought this would be cool for them. Sabrina is also a craft girl and thought she would get a kick out of it too.

Lastly, I have been keeping busy in my craftroom and I made these two thank you cards for my daughter who has been out of work for 3 weeks because she works in a restaurant.  Some of her regulars have sent her tips during this hard time which was so sweet of them. I thought it would be a nice gesture to send them a thank you card. One of them is a dance teacher and the other one loves golfing.

I just want to say to everyone, things will get better.  Please stay safe and stay away from one another, we will get through this.  God doesn't give us things that we can't handle.  We can do this!  God bless you all!

Happy 2020!

You're so sweet!

Since Christmas, I have been busy making birthday cards for the new year!  This one is cute one that I found on Pinterest and the tutorial is pretty easy to follow.  It uses the Stampin up Tasty Trucks which is a cute stamp set that I got last year decided to give this one a try.  The paper used is also from Stampin up. There are no dies for this stamp set so I had to fussy cut the truck but it is pretty straight forward.   Below is the back of the card and also the link for this tutorial.

Sentiment on the back
This is a fun card to make but you need to keep your plastic sheets for the mechanism inside this card. I made this for a friend who's birthday is this week and glad I got it in the mail in time.  The tutorial for this card is https://www.pinterest.com/pin/34832597105781853/

Have fun making these two slider cards!  Happy New Year!

Oscar in the window!

Can you see a doggie in the window?

Sentiment for Sabrina!
My daughter and I just got back from San Francisco, where my son and his girlfriend live, to help my son with his injury that he had in July.  He is doing well but the injury, Achille's tear, is hard when you get do what you want to do.  We had a good time taking care of Oscar each day!  My son's girlfriend, Sabrina, has a birthday coming up so we had to make a card showing Oscar in the window when Eric and Sabrina come home.  Hope she gets a kick out of it!  Happy, happy birthday Sabrina!

Front of card

Inside of card
I made this card for a bridal shower that I went to last weekend. Jennifer is bride-to-be and her groom is the son of a very good friend of mine. I have been making lanterns for their wedding which is October 4th. My sisters and my sister in law helped make them along with Jen and her maid of honor.  This card I have seen on Pinterest but I did a smaller version of it.  I was surprised to get to the shower and the colors that I used for the card were the same colors that her bridesmaids  used to decorate for the shower.  It is a rose colored shimmer cardstock from Stampin up as well as the dies that I used.
Lights off!

Lights on!
We made 24 of them for the tables at the reception. We loved how they came out! It is an evening wedding so these will be perfect!  The die we used is from Spellbinders and boy, did those dies get a workout!  Hoping that Jennifer and David have a wonderful wedding!!
