More Projects and Cards!

I am having fun with the book folding techniques. On Pinterest there have been some really cute witches. I decided to make one too! Her hat is from black felt which I made to fit her head. Her broom was pretty easy to make too. The book/dress is inked and then sprayed with Prima Marketing purple sprayed mist. My centerpiece for Halloween is done!

Rocker cards are a fun style card to make. I think I will make more of these. My brother-in-law's birthday was last week and I always do a golf card but had to do something different this year. Love how this came out! Happy Birthday Tom!

Greenhouse for his Birthday!

Our good friend is building a greenhouse and he is really excited about it. I'll have to share pictures when he is done so I made him a greenhouse birthday card. It was made with a window die and Stampin up stamps. The style is a tent card and I added the awning which was the perfect spot for his birthday greeting and the sentiment is on the back. I have seen these book folded Christmas trees and angels. There are so many different images that you can make with these folded books but here is a couple that I thought was cute to do.

There are tutorials on youtube and Pinterest to make these. It is a great craft to do in front of the TV because it does take some patience. It is best to use a book that has at least 200 pages. I am working on a candle which is a little different in the folding but I am loving how it is coming out. Enjoy!

Unicorn Pop Up

Last month I purchased Karen Burniston's Itty Bitty Ball pop up die. I am loving all the ideas that you can make with this die. I chose a unicorn for a friend's granddaughter. She turned 5 yesterday and unicorns are so popular this age group. Karen Burniston has a great tutorial on how to put this Itty Bitty ball together. Below are more pictures of the card and I used a belly band to keep it closed.

I made a box for the card. Now she has a safe place for her card. Of note I love how the unicorn turns around and around. I am sure she will love this card. Happy Birthday Emily!

Christmas Cones

 My sisters and I are doing a couple of craft fairs in November of this year and this is a new craft project that Chris saw on Pinterest so the 3 of us decided to give it a try.  It is called Kimekomi. In one of the tutorials that I watched she did say that you get better the more you do and I think she is right.  This is the first one I did and I had to take out quite a few panels but I do like the final result.  I found the template for this one on  Pinterest and used fabric that I already had.  It is 15 inches tall and would make a beautiful centerpiece for a table or just a fun keepsake!  I am going to make a Santa one next and hopefully a gingerbread house and boy!  I have some ideas so need to get busy finding some templates.

August Birthdays

Love making a Card in a Box card!  This one is for a friend who has a birthday this week and she loves the beach.  Graphic 45 Sun Kissed Collection is so beautiful!  I used some dies  and punches to make the beach/ocean scene.  I found the sentiment on Pinterest. Happy Birthday Kathi!

I have been so busy  making July and August birthday cards.  Another birthday to a friend who is Irish and thought he would get a kick out of a green origami shirt with a little shamrock on the front of his shirt. Happy Birthday Brian!

Disney Birthday!

I have the most fun making these explosion boxes for friends!  This one was the most fun because it is for a very good friend who loves Disney and Donald Duck! We finally celebrated her birthday last week (her birthday was in February) because we all have been traveling and was able to get together for lunch.  The paper is from Simple Stories and is just perfect for a Disney album or card!  I made a shaker star for the top of the box---the pictures below show the sides and, most importantly, inside!!

We had fun celebrating with Cindy! She is so easy to buy and make things because she loves Disney and Pink!! So guess which one is Cindy!! Love you Cindy!

Birthday Card/Gift Boxes

I found this card/gift box, all in one tutorial on Pinterest and wanted to make a few.  A friend of mine is having a birthday this week and I have a pair of seaglass earrings for her which are perfect for this box.  Check out this tutorial on Pinterest by Linda Parker.  The size of the box is 4x4.  The only difference with my card/box project is that I made it so you open the front of the card and the tutorial shows that it opens from the back of the box. Either way works out great. I also used a magnet to close the front on two of the card/boxes but you could always use a belly band for closure.  I used Graphic 45 papers to decorate the project and SU flower dies to finish it off.  Check out below more pictures of the inside of the boxes.

The paper makes this card/gift box. Inside, there is plenty of room for a sentiment for whatever occasion you choose.  These were so fun to make and doesn't take any time to do it!  You will love the finished project!!

Heartfelt Anniversary!

Love Heartfelt Creations cards and this die is from them.  They make such beautiful cards! I made this card for my sister and her husband's 12th Anniversary which was yesterday!  This die makes such a lovely gatefold card!  The sentiment on the front  is something I had in my stash and the vine is a die from Memory Box.

The inside of the card I used dies from Stampin up with a glitter background--so pretty!  Love this bundle from Stampin up called Special Reason.

Oscar Worthy?

Oscars were the theme for a mystery dinner theater that my husband and I went to last month with some friends.  I found a template for Oscar on the Internet and went with it.  I saw a lot of version to make one but decided to go with this one.  I cut out 2 from gold glitter paper and backed them with black paper so that it looked like a shadow.  Then,  I put it on a "stage" with our friends names.  I was worried it wasn't going to come out very good but I was pleasantly surprised!  Not bad for only having 48 hours to design and complete them!  Awards were for Best Diva and Best Supporting Diva, Best Director in Technical Support, Best Action Figure,  Best Prop Design (me!) and then Lifetime Achievement for Chemistry and Comedy!  It was a riot and we had our pictures taken with them!

Here we are all dressed up and ready for the Oscars!  It was a fun night and the name of the company who performed was called Mystery for Hire and the Comedy Show was called "Gimmie Awards, Honoring the Best in Hollywood"!  There were about 125 people and everyone had a name.  Mine was Minnie Skirts and my husband was Drew Blood.  It was pretty funny and a fun evening!!

Double Dutch Anniversary Card

Mon Amour from Graphic 45 makes a great Anniversary Card!  This card is for my sister, Chris and her husband, Tom.  They had their 24th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and this was a perfect Graphic 45 paper collection to use.  (Funny note, my other sister, Connie, made a card for them out of the same paper collection!)

This style card is called a Double Dutch fold.  All of the elements on the card are from the paper collection but I did find the poem on the back of the card from Pinterest.  This card measures 4 1/4 x 6 so it is another easy card to mail.

25 Years!

I just realized this morning that I didn't post the card I gave my sister and her husband for their 25th Wedding Anniversary!  I remember that day well.  It was a beautiful day in Kennebunk, Maine and the bride and her bridesmaids were gorgeous!  It is so hard to believe my younger sister has been married for 25 years!!!

I love easel cards because it displays so well.  The large heart is from Memory Box and I knew I wanted to use it for this card.  Spellbinder dies are the smaller hearts and sizzix for the "25"!  Of course, I used silver, black and white for the color of the card.

Love making Wedding/Anniversary cards!  The ones I have seen on Splitcoast and Pinterest are just so elegant and gorgeous!  Happy 25th Anniversary to Andrea and Renn!!

Witches Shoes for Halloween!

How cute are these Witches legs???!!!  Click here to see where I got this idea.  It was from my favorite site, Pinterest.  I made my own template for the soles of the shoes.   The top of the leg has some orange frilly binding that I had in my stash.  It is perfect for these shoes.  The spider is from Sizzix. The ribbon says "Boo" and this was also in my stash.  Love that I can use stuff I have had for a while and can use it up for other stuff!  The legs are paper towel rolls and it holds about 4 or 5 small candy bars and a lollypop!

At Halloween, I think this is the most used die that I have.  I have had it for 3 or 4 years and I always use it.  He is so adorable and with googly eyes it raises it to the next level.

Flower Slider Card

First, I wanted to share this picture of one of my lilies.  This is such a beautiful color, not sure what the name of it is but it is simple beautiful. July is lily month and it has been fun watching and waiting for my lilies to bloom.  I have yellow, orange, deep red, peach, tiger and this one below.

This lily has a velvety feel to the bloom. Just gorgeous!  Wish lilies would bloom all summer!!

I made this card for my friend, Mary.  Her birthday was yesterday and I saw this card on pinterest and thought is was ideal.  I think I have made one of these before but it has been a while and wanted to give it a try again.  If you want the directions for this slider card with Dawn just  click here.  It isn't hard at all.  The stamp set is from SU, it is an old one called "All wrapped up". I put the sentiment on the back of the card.   I did more stamping on this card which I haven't done in a while too. A bonus is that it fits fine in a regular envelope for mailing.
