Copenhagen, City of Towers

We just got back from Denmark! It is my husband's heritage, his great grandfather was born in Denmark. It has been on his bucket list and now he can check it off! I have been asked since we have gotten back, "would you go back?" My answer is a definite, YES! Denmark, as the title says, is called the city of towers but in my estimation it is also a city of bicycles! The country is very English friendly and the people are so kind and helpful. Denmark is also known for Hans Christian Andersen who is mainly known for "The Little Mermaid" There are statues of him all over Copenhagen.
I think there were more parking spaces for bicycles than cars!
Copenhagen has many museums and castles, not to mention shops and restaurants (were out of this world)! One of the most popular places to visit was Nyhavn which is so scenic! We took a canal tour around the coast of Copenhagen. We had to duck our heads when we went through under some of the bridges as you will see in the pictures below:
We saw the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Palace just as we were walking around the city. It is a very walkable city and we did walk 20,000 steps in one day and close to it the other days. Such a wonderful and memorable trip! I feel so lucky to have experienced it with my family.
