Last Snowstorm of 2016!

Winter last year was certainly different than this year!  We have already gotten more snow in December this year than we did the entire winter last year!  I love the seasons that we have in Maine but I hope this winter isn't going to be a record season.   We are headed into January 2017 and I am hoping for a healthy and happy year for family and friends.  Already, I have seen on Facebook that it is going to be a challenging year for some friends so I am praying for their health for 2017.

So pretty!

Happy 36 Years!

Just a quick post to show the card I made for my husband.  It was our 36th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and we celebrated with our children at a new restaurant in Portland called Ribollita last night.  My husband loves Italian food and Ribollita was a hit!!  The best part of the night is that our children picked up the tab!!

This card is similar to one I saw on Pinterest.  I love making fences with the hardwood stamp from Stampin Up.  It is a simple but cute card.  Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!

Christmas Crafting

Last week's small snowstorm was a good day to have fun in my craftroom!  All presents wrapped and Christmas cards done and mailed, a good time to have some fun for myself.  Papertrey's snow globe die is so versatile.  Loved playing with it and came up with this!  Santa's sleigh and reindeer is so small and adorable from Papertrey's petite places and SU's Christmas tree punch and stamp set are the main theme of the globe.  Just added some snow and snowflakes with a little "Joy"!

These Christmas cards I sent out last week to people that I got cards from that weren't on my list. Love this wreath set from SU.  The background paper is from Simple Stories.

With only 2 days to Christmas, I hope everyone is ready!  Merry Christmas to all!

Birthday Snowmen

How cute are these snowman pop-up, twist cards? I have seen them also called 4 panel cards.  I made two of them for my sisters-in-law's birthdays.  Karen's birthday is on  Christmas Eve and Sue's is on New Year's Eve.  I thought a snowman would make a cute card for them especially this time of year in the northeast.  One card is red and the other one is blue.  Love how they came out.  Here is the video to make the card, just click here.

Front of the card
Below is a picture of the other one that I made which has blue mittens and scarf.  So adorable!  Still thinking of who else I can make these cards for!!

Happy Birthday paper!

Stockings for Christmas!

Here are my Christmas cards for this year!  Last month I got the Stocking dies, stamps and cable knit embossing folder from Stampin up and liked all the cards I saw on Pinterest so decided to make them for my Christmas cards this year.  The holly/berry punch is from Martha Stewart and the paper collections I used are from Stampin up,  My Mind's Eye and Authenique.  I made 35 cards in all and it took me about 5 days to finish them all up.  They are all in the mail and as the song goes, "Christmas cards have all been sent, the christmas rush is on....."  Everyone enjoy!!

Pocket Letters for Birthdays

These pocket letters are cool to make.  I made 2 of them for my twin sisters.  Their birthdays were last week and we celebrated today.  This one is for Chris with assorted dies, punches and embellishments. The paper collection is from Simple Stories.  Love using Julie Nutting's doll stamps!

This one is for Connie and again used a Prima Flower, dies, and embellishments.  The paper collection that I used is "The Avenue" which I think is from Bo Bunny.  Happy Birthday Chris & Connie!

Christmas Candy Globes

Before snow
After snow
In between making my Christmas cards and December birthday cards, I have been working on these adorable Papertrey Ink Christmas globes for friends and neighbors.  So far, I have made 8 of them to include Holiday Lane, Nativity scene and the church.  They are all so fun to make and create!  Papertrey does a great job with videos on how to put these scenes together.  I am sure you can find them on youtube.  They also give you some great tips but you will have sticky fingers when you are done!!  Don't forget to add the candy! Thanks for stopping by!

Russ' Birthday Card

I have certainly been busy this past week in my craftroom with Christmas cards to get out and my sisters having a birthday.  I can't post what I made for my sisters since I haven't given it to them yet but I can post my brother-in-law's card since he isn't a visitor to my blog.  I saw this card on pinterest and watched the video on how to make it on Splitcoast.  It is called an envelope fold card. Make sure you use good and sturdy cardstock for this card. I wanted to use my Elizabeth Craft owl die because all of her animal dies are so cute!!  Just added some leaves and finished up the card.    I want to try this type of card again and have something hanging, like snowflakes falling, which they are predicting here in Maine at the end of the week.

Front of card
The front of the card is pretty simple with Tim Holtz Sizzix words.  I use these dies all the time for cards and projects.

A closer look at Mr. Owl with his leaves and acorn.  Mr. Owl says "Goodness Heavens, look whooooo's 67"!    Now, back to the craftroom to finish up my Christmas cards!!
