S is for Spring

This picture doesn't reflect Spring in the Northeast but here it is! Over the past weekend, we had an ice storm knocking out power mostly on the coast of Maine. The town that I live in was almost completely in the dark with no traffic lights, and it was hard to get any gas and even groceries. We lost power on Saturday night and didn't get it back until Monday just before noon. Some people still are without power today but most of the State is back to normal. Thank you to the out-of-state power companies and Maine Central Maine Power working so hard to restore the power. The number of trees that are down from this storm is just unbelievable. The picture above is from Downtown Portland Maine!
I have been busy before we lost power making this wooden "S" for my sister's stepdaughter's bridal shower. It is 24" in height which is great to hang. My sister sent me the pictures that her stepdaughter would like for the mural. I did use Mod Podge to glue them down and I put 3 coats on the top. To finish, I added some embellishments. I have made 4 or 5 of these for friends. It works out to be such a great gift!

Spring is near!

This is just a quick post to finish up my birthday cards for March. A little bumble bee with some cute flowers for a birthday card! How appropriate for a friend's birthday just after the first day of spring. The little bee is from Sizzix. I have had this Sizzix die for a while and wanted to use it again. It is adorable! Happy Birthday Julia! Also wanted to show this project that I made with everything from the Dollar Tree Store except the vinyl words and the candlesticks. I have decided to keep it for myself because I LOVE the way this came out. The idea came from Pinterest!

Easter Bunny Centerpiece

I thought I needed an Easter centerpiece for the table this year. I made this cute little fabric bunny. The pattern I used was on Pinterest and was so easy to do. The eggs are wooden which are painted and then decorated with lace and flowers. I had a cute little bunny and just added it to the centerpiece. I'm really happy the way it came out! For some reason I am still working on some Christmas items. They happen to be Christmas trees. The first one was a challenge from a friend to see if I could copy it. This first picture is the picture she sent me...
This is the one that I did. I used IOD moulds that I have and it came out pretty good. My Christmas tree Wall art!
This second Christmas tree are 2 inch wooden blocks. They are painted and glued together. Added some decoration and words from my Cricut machine. This was an easy and fun project to do!
