Our Gretel

Puppy Gretel
It was been a week since my husband, my children and I have had to say "good-bye" to our devoted and loving Gretel.  My husband and I are really "empty-nesters" now.  She was such a wonderful pet who loved us and we loved her.   Gretel was always ready for anything whether it be a ride, walk or just watching us work around the house.  When someone came to visit, she was there to greet them. The past 10 1/2 years have been so amazing with her.  I received a sympathy card in the mail today from a friend and it reads -  "A pet is a special part of your family who will always have a special place in your heart. They are gone from our sight... but never our memory, gone from our hearing... but never gone from our hearts, gone from our touch... but their presence is felt and the love that they gave us never departs." They is so very true.  Will always remember and love you, sweet girl, Gretel.

11th Anniversary!

Just a quick post to show this card. This is for my sister and her husband's 11th Wedding Anniversary!  We celebrated at Longhorn for dinner the other night.  I wanted to use my Spellbinder's hearts and I love Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper which is so pretty!   Really had fun making this card - check out the inside of the card below.

Such gorgeous paper!

Retirement Card

This is a 4-panel retirement card for a teacher that my husband, Mark, hired and now she is retiring.  I made this card as a birthday card for my sister, Andrea, in August and there was a lot of measuring. This card has a different tutorial that my other sister, Chris, showed me and it is a little easier and I think I will make more of these.  The tutorial is easy to follow so all you need to do is click here.  You should really try it; it is very easy to follow!  On the front is the Elizabeth Craft rose die which I use a lot and love a lot!!  The paper collection is from Graphic 45 - Time to Flourish!

Here is the inside with the four panels.  Each panel has a topic and are labelled Relax, Retire, Refresh and Rejuvenate!  I used punch art to display each topic on the panels.  Below are pictures of each panels which show the panels up close.  This is a fun card to make!   Tomorrow is the party for Doreen who is a well deserved teacher heading into retirement!!  Congratulations Doreen!!
Relax=Vacation, Retire=No more clocks
Refresh = Drink, Rejuvenate = Music

Nativity Scene

Papertrey Ink has these cute little villages.  They are so cute and little.  My sister, Chris, introduced my other sister and I to them. I love them.  I have had to practice on a few of them which have ended up in the trash but finally got the hang of it.  They are so small and such a great gift for Christmas.  I have been playing with the Nativity stamps and dies making cards and these cute little globes on mason jars.  I have made 3 of them and some cards. I also made an ornament for our tree.  I am going to put the year on it so I know when it was made to put on our tree!  I just ordered the Holiday Lane and can't wait to make this one!  What a great gift and what fun to create!  Never to early to start on your Christmas gifts!!  Thank you for stopping by!!

Getting started

Just need to add candy!
Beautiful as a card!
Love as an ornament too!

Birthday Pocket Letter

Loving these Pocket Letters on Pinterest!  My daughter's birthday is tomorrow so I made her one It is great that I can use Julie Nutting's Prima Doll Stamps too!  I used Lindsey's initials for the middle panels and some school pictures which I have an abundance of!!  The sentiment is in the flap which is in the middle on the right.  Wanted to use some washi tape for the left side but didn't have any that matched.  Gonna look today for some.  It is great that you can use stuff from your stash and paper scraps for this project.  Check out closer pictures below.  Happy Birthday Sweetie!!
