Birthday Explosion Boxes

2 Graphic 45, By the Sea and 1 Purple Explosion Boxes for birthday cards!  I have been working on these boxes for about 3 weeks now for 3 friends with birthdays in July.  Inside are pictures for the birthday girls and other fun things.

This opens for a birthday sentiment
Today is her birthday!
This flower for the top of this explosion box is fun to make but you need a compass to make this. The link to make this flower  is below.  This is a well explained tutorial.

Added flaps for more pictures and more embellishments.  Love making the little tote bag for the beach and can't forget the flip flops and beach ball!

The second explosion box with the Graphic 45 by the sea paper is for another friend who is a beach lover or beach bum as they are called!

Used some of my dies for embellishments and also made the tote bag for the center again with shells. Can't have a beach theme without seashells!

Purple lover
Love my new doily die from Tim Holtz.  It is very intricate but the die cuts so well that I didn't have any problems getting out those "little pieces"!  The paper is from Stampin up!

The center of this explosion box is a birthday cake.  I made it from cardstock with pearls and flowers on top.  I really loved how each one of these boxes came out!  Happy Birthday, dear friends!!

Birthday Blast for Adrianne!

I didn't want to post this card until after my sister's birthday which was yesterday.  She looks at my blog and I  never know when she will get the card.  I wanted to use my new stamp/die set from Stampin up.  Love, love, love purple and I know she does too!  The Stamp set is called "Birthday Blast" and the flower die is called "Botanical Builder" from Stampin up!  Happy Birthday little sis, Adrianne!!  See you soon! Hugs!

It was a beautiful weekend here in Maine, so we took a ride to North Conway via Sunday River in our sportscars.  My husband and I have a BMW Z3 and our friends have a Miata.  Saturday was a perfect drive for it!  Check out some pictures below...

Footnote - I just have to say that our friends have golfed here and every hole has a gorgeous view of the mountains.  Sunday River has 5 mountains to ski!  Just beautiful scenery.  Just sayin.....

Sailboat Z-Fold Card

I have been busy making birthday cards because July is a BIG birthday month!  This card is a Z-fold for a very good friend.  Her birthday is July 29th and she lives in Stonington which is a Down East town. She lives by the ocean and sees lots of sailboats.  This card seemed very appropriate for her. For this card, I used dies from Die-namics, Spellbinders,  and the anchor is a MS punch.  This is such a fun fold to make.  Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Sailboats!
Love this sentiment!

Oscar Worthy?

Oscars were the theme for a mystery dinner theater that my husband and I went to last month with some friends.  I found a template for Oscar on the Internet and went with it.  I saw a lot of version to make one but decided to go with this one.  I cut out 2 from gold glitter paper and backed them with black paper so that it looked like a shadow.  Then,  I put it on a "stage" with our friends names.  I was worried it wasn't going to come out very good but I was pleasantly surprised!  Not bad for only having 48 hours to design and complete them!  Awards were for Best Diva and Best Supporting Diva, Best Director in Technical Support, Best Action Figure,  Best Prop Design (me!) and then Lifetime Achievement for Chemistry and Comedy!  It was a riot and we had our pictures taken with them!

Closer look!
Here we are all dressed up and ready for the Oscars!  It was a fun night and the name of the company who performed was called Mystery for Hire and the Comedy Show was called "Gimmie Awards, Honoring the Best in Hollywood"!  There were about 125 people and everyone had a name.  Mine was Minnie Skirts and my husband was Drew Blood.  It was pretty funny and a fun evening!!

Baseball Explosion Birthday!

My brother's birthday isn't until  next month but he was visiting last week and my sisters and I didn't want to mail this to him.  It is an explosion box with a baseball theme!  My sisters and I were at a SeaDogs game in Portland Maine and they were handing out stress baseballs.  So this idea came from going to a baseball game.

The paper is from graphic 45 - Gentlemen's collection and also from Good Ole Sport collection.  I had a Jolee baseball glove in my stash which was perfect for the stress ball!  In each pocket  of the explosion box is a sentiment from us.  I love this paper and as usual with Graphic 45, it makes the project beautiful!

The top of the box are cut outs of Graphic 45's Good Ole Sport with sizzix bat that says "Have a ball"!  My sisters and I got together to make this box for our brother which I think came out pretty good!  Happy Birthday Brother!!

Double Dutch Anniversary Card

Mon Amour from Graphic 45 makes a great Anniversary Card!  This card is for my sister, Chris and her husband, Tom.  They had their 24th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and this was a perfect Graphic 45 paper collection to use.  (Funny note, my other sister, Connie, made a card for them out of the same paper collection!)

This style card is called a Double Dutch fold.  All of the elements on the card are from the paper collection but I did find the poem on the back of the card from Pinterest.  This card measures 4 1/4 x 6 so it is another easy card to mail.

The inside of the card, opened.  The paper is so pretty and the cut aparts are beautiful!

The back of the card with a poem for the Anniversary couple!  Happy Anniversary Chris & Tom!!
