Beach Baby Jess

My daughter, Lindsey, needed a Happy Birthday card for her friend, Jess,  who loves the beach.  She was also a cheerleader so I couldn't decide whether to put her on the beach or a cheerleading outfit.  Because it is the season for the beach here she is!  I saw this on pinterest and also on SC.  The punches are all stampin up punches. The hair is the scallop punch including her bangs.  Her head is the1 inch punch, body is the large oval punch just  cut in a little to give her a figure. The arms are the corner frame punch and legs are the word window as well as her sandals.  I gave her some pearl earrings and a belly button ring.  The ribbon is from SU which is just a knot tied in the middle and placed as the top of her little bikini!  Love this!!!  I am going to try the cheerleader next!!

Colorful Bowties

Just a quick card today. This is another Father's Day card that I saw on pinterest but I didn't have the pennant punch so I used the SU butterfly punch.  What do you think?  I used the circles cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and the 1/2 inch round punch for the middle of the bowtie.   I thought this was cute for a dad who wears bowties.  Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers to Father's Day

Here is a cute card that I saw on Pinterest and wanted to make it for my husband.  He loves a "cold one in the summer".  I always find it amazing the different things that you can make with punches. The beer mug is measured approximately 3 1/2 x 3 inches and the bottom corners are curved with a corner punch. Nestabilities circles were used for the handle. The "bubbles" are 1 1/4, and 1 inch punches from SU.  I also used the flower punch from SU.  Ranger's "Wild Honey" ink was used for the 3/4 inch strips and for the bubbles.  The banner from Spellbinders was inked with Ranger's "Forest Moss" and then clear Rock Candy from  Ranger. I love the shimmer that the Rock Candy gives to a project.

Happy Father's Day to all fathers today including my wonderful husband!!  He is a great father, husband and especially friend!  On a personal note, my husband reminds me of my own father who was a terrific dad.  My dad has been gone now 1 1/2 years and I miss him everyday.  Love you Dad!!

Graduation Cap

My sister, Chris (figaro) gave me this idea for 2 more graduation cards that I needed. Ian and Patrick are twin brothers graduating from high school. I thought they would get a kick out of these cute caps!  The sentiment is from SU. I just love how they came out! You can find the instructions  here.  I found the tassels at a store in Bath, Maine called Tate's.  Thanks for stopping by.

Adoption Day Cards

Again this year, I was asked by a teacher at my husband's school to do a couple of Adoption Day cards for her 2 nephrews.  One of the boys is going to be 7 and his name is Alan who happens to be blind and loves music.  This card is for him!  I found this template guitar from http://sarahsinkspot.com/blog/2009/06/u-rock-guitar-card-2.html  I used a glitter paper for the guitar so that Alan could feel it. The strings are the gold metallic string from SU which I wrapped around brads at the top and base of the guitar. The card size is 8 x 7 inches. When you open up the card I made the piano from Lynn Pratt (you can go to her blog from my blog, her button is to the left of my blog). She is so talented! I made my own dimensions from her picture to fit my card.  The white keys are 4 x 5 1/2 and I drew black lines every 1/2 inch.  I scored twice on each side at the 1/2 inch mark. The black keys are measured 5/16 of an inch by 2 1/2 inch and scored the same way only at 1/4 of an inch mark.  Then place the black keys in the middle of the black line on the white keys.  The sentiment "You rock!" is done in gold embossing powder so that Alan could feel it. There is a lot of texture in this card so I hope Alan enjoys it.

The second card I made was for Alan's brother, Aaron and he is 3 and loves baseball. I wasn't sure what team he liked so I did a generic Red Sox jersey.  I used a few punches for this one. The large and small tag punches for the pocket. The frame corner punch for the V neck and I cut free hand the red triangles for the shoulders.  The baseball is from nestabilities with red stitching and inked it up with Tim Holtz's Wild Honey. Check out the inside below.  Check back with me and I'll let you know how they liked their cards.  Thanks for stopping by!

Not sure why this is sideways?!

Happy Graduation Day!

Love these owls for my graduation card!  I have seen these cute owls on SC for graduation cards and couldn't resist the temptation to use them for my card.  Today was a party for Emily who is graduating tomorrow from Catherine McAuley High School.  She was only about 7 or 8 when she would come to her sister's games and my husband would coach her sister and my daughter's team.  I can't believe how time flies!!  Now is she is a beautiful 18  year old and off to college next year!

I used the SU scallop punch for the wings and the curly label for the bottom part of the graduation hat.  I free hand the top part of the graduation hat.  I know you can use the penant punch from SU but I didn't have it. The DP is from SU and I am sorry but I can't remember the name of it.  The banner is from Spellbinders and the sentiment is SU "congrats".  Always have fun using the owl punch from SU! Thanks for looking!
