Last Snowstorm of 2016!

Winter last year was certainly different than this year!  We have already gotten more snow in December this year than we did the entire winter last year!  I love the seasons that we have in Maine but I hope this winter isn't going to be a record season.   We are headed into January 2017 and I am hoping for a healthy and happy year for family and friends.  Already, I have seen on Facebook that it is going to be a challenging year for some friends so I am praying for their health for 2017.

So pretty!

Happy 36 Years!

Just a quick post to show the card I made for my husband.  It was our 36th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and we celebrated with our children at a new restaurant in Portland called Ribollita last night.  My husband loves Italian food and Ribollita was a hit!!  The best part of the night is that our children picked up the tab!!

This card is similar to one I saw on Pinterest.  I love making fences with the hardwood stamp from Stampin Up.  It is a simple but cute card.  Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!

Christmas Crafting

Last week's small snowstorm was a good day to have fun in my craftroom!  All presents wrapped and Christmas cards done and mailed, a good time to have some fun for myself.  Papertrey's snow globe die is so versatile.  Loved playing with it and came up with this!  Santa's sleigh and reindeer is so small and adorable from Papertrey's petite places and SU's Christmas tree punch and stamp set are the main theme of the globe.  Just added some snow and snowflakes with a little "Joy"!

These Christmas cards I sent out last week to people that I got cards from that weren't on my list. Love this wreath set from SU.  The background paper is from Simple Stories.

With only 2 days to Christmas, I hope everyone is ready!  Merry Christmas to all!

Birthday Snowmen

How cute are these snowman pop-up, twist cards? I have seen them also called 4 panel cards.  I made two of them for my sisters-in-law's birthdays.  Karen's birthday is on  Christmas Eve and Sue's is on New Year's Eve.  I thought a snowman would make a cute card for them especially this time of year in the northeast.  One card is red and the other one is blue.  Love how they came out.  Here is the video to make the card, just click here.

Front of the card
Below is a picture of the other one that I made which has blue mittens and scarf.  So adorable!  Still thinking of who else I can make these cards for!!

Happy Birthday paper!

Stockings for Christmas!

Here are my Christmas cards for this year!  Last month I got the Stocking dies, stamps and cable knit embossing folder from Stampin up and liked all the cards I saw on Pinterest so decided to make them for my Christmas cards this year.  The holly/berry punch is from Martha Stewart and the paper collections I used are from Stampin up,  My Mind's Eye and Authenique.  I made 35 cards in all and it took me about 5 days to finish them all up.  They are all in the mail and as the song goes, "Christmas cards have all been sent, the christmas rush is on....."  Everyone enjoy!!

Pocket Letters for Birthdays

These pocket letters are cool to make.  I made 2 of them for my twin sisters.  Their birthdays were last week and we celebrated today.  This one is for Chris with assorted dies, punches and embellishments. The paper collection is from Simple Stories.  Love using Julie Nutting's doll stamps!

This one is for Connie and again used a Prima Flower, dies, and embellishments.  The paper collection that I used is "The Avenue" which I think is from Bo Bunny.  Happy Birthday Chris & Connie!

Christmas Candy Globes

Before snow
After snow
In between making my Christmas cards and December birthday cards, I have been working on these adorable Papertrey Ink Christmas globes for friends and neighbors.  So far, I have made 8 of them to include Holiday Lane, Nativity scene and the church.  They are all so fun to make and create!  Papertrey does a great job with videos on how to put these scenes together.  I am sure you can find them on youtube.  They also give you some great tips but you will have sticky fingers when you are done!!  Don't forget to add the candy! Thanks for stopping by!

Russ' Birthday Card

I have certainly been busy this past week in my craftroom with Christmas cards to get out and my sisters having a birthday.  I can't post what I made for my sisters since I haven't given it to them yet but I can post my brother-in-law's card since he isn't a visitor to my blog.  I saw this card on pinterest and watched the video on how to make it on Splitcoast.  It is called an envelope fold card. Make sure you use good and sturdy cardstock for this card. I wanted to use my Elizabeth Craft owl die because all of her animal dies are so cute!!  Just added some leaves and finished up the card.    I want to try this type of card again and have something hanging, like snowflakes falling, which they are predicting here in Maine at the end of the week.

Front of card
The front of the card is pretty simple with Tim Holtz Sizzix words.  I use these dies all the time for cards and projects.

A closer look at Mr. Owl with his leaves and acorn.  Mr. Owl says "Goodness Heavens, look whooooo's 67"!    Now, back to the craftroom to finish up my Christmas cards!!

Happy Thanksgiving 2016

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and visit with friends and family.  Just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and to share this cute favor for the 15 people coming to our house for Thanksgiving.  I saw this cute pumpkin favor on Pinterest and wanted to make it for Thanksgiving place settings.  Changed the decoration on the front a bit but the basic construction is the same.  It was really fun and easy to make.   Below are some close up pictures of it and also picture of my Thanksgiving tables!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Here are a few of the ones I made!

Thankful!

Here is a quick post for a card that was needed this week. I made this Thanksgiving turkey for a Thank you card.  My husband wanted a Thank you card for the nurse that helps him with his therapy.  I saw this on Pinterest and used Stampin up punches, the large oval punch for his head and feathers, and then tab punch for legs, circle punch for body, hands and beak are the 5-point flower punch and also the scallop punch his lower body.  The sentiment is also an old Stampin up stamp collection. Love the googly eyes!!    Punch art is so much fun to create animals and just about anything you want and you will find it all on Pinterest!

From the deck
First snow fall last night and even though, we know winter is upon us and can be dreaded, it is so pretty!  It probably will be gone by this afternoon or tomorrow but we can enjoy it for a little while and no worries I am sure more will be on the way!

Birthday Girl!

Love Julie Nutting's doll stamps!!  This is a perfect doll stamp for my sister-in-law's birthday this weekend!  I used a project life 3 x 4 card "Lookin good" - for the background of the tag and some dies for decorating the card.  The back of the tag is for the sentiment.

Charlotte and my brother, Hal just became grandparents again for the second time to Rosalie Charlotte this summer and she is a cutie.  We had a great time in October visiting with her and family!  We had so much fun shopping and hanging out at the Cheesecake Factory.  Rosalie and big sister, Amelia are smart shoppers for sure!!  Happy Birthday Charlotte!!

Aubrey's Baby Shower

My sister, Phillis is visiting from Georgia and her daughter, Danielle is having a baby in March so we decided to throw a virtual baby shower today via Facetime with Danielle.  Danielle is 6 months pregnant so obviously she wasn't able to make the trip.  This paper collection is from Echo Park which is a pretty collection.  I have used it before to make a baby girl mini album for a friend who had a grand-daughter.  The teddy bear is a Sizzix die and the sentiment is from Stampin up.

This is a pop up card with little pink booties and it says Baby Girl Aubrey!  The booties are a Sizzix die as well as the words "Baby Girl" I really love this collection, pink and brown, so pretty!  On the back, I made a pocket to put cash in it for the baby.  Can't wait to meet sweet Aubrey!

Found this sentiment on Pinterest, "A baby is a wee bit of heaven drifted down from above, a handful of happiness, a heart full of love!"  Below are some pictures from the Baby Shower today. Fun day!!

Happy Halloween!

A fun weekend ending today with cute little monsters from the neighbor trick or treating tonight.  I bought these white paperbags and just added the Tim Holtz sizzix Halloween cat with green eyes and a sentiment that says "Trick or Treat" from, I think, Stampendous.  They were obviously really easy and the kids loved them!  It was a great night for trick or treating, not to cold.

Yesterday, my sisters and a very good friend, Cindy got together to make the Papertrey Ink Petite Places on Mason jars.  They are so adorable and so small!  Check out picture below.  Thank you Andrea for hosting this fun Stamp Camp!

Witches Shoes for Halloween!

How cute are these Witches legs???!!!  Click here to see where I got this idea.  It was from my favorite site, Pinterest.  I made my own template for the soles of the shoes.   The top of the leg has some orange frilly binding that I had in my stash.  It is perfect for these shoes.  The spider is from Sizzix. The ribbon says "Boo" and this was also in my stash.  Love that I can use stuff I have had for a while and can use it up for other stuff!  The legs are paper towel rolls and it holds about 4 or 5 small candy bars and a lollypop!

Mr. Spider
At Halloween, I think this is the most used die that I have.  I have had it for 3 or 4 years and I always use it.  He is so adorable and with googly eyes it raises it to the next level.

Halloween Shaker Card

Loving using my new Stampin "Jar of Love" stamp and die set!  The Z fold card is so fun and easy to make. Googly eyes in the jar for the Witches Brew is perfect!  I haven't used the owl punch from SU in a while and it makes such an adorable witch, I had to use it.  Never know what you are going to find in a witches brew!

In the open position you can see the sentiment on the left side of the card.  A closer look at the kettle of witches brew to the right. This was made with Nestabiities circle, SU tab punch, and the brew is from Martha Stewart's border punch.  I had a lot of fun designing and making this card! Just love Halloween!

Triangle Fold Card for Halloween!

My first Halloween card of the season is made with Stampin up's Jar of Love Stamp Set and Dies. The front of the card is a jar of eyes!  Just click here for the tutorial for this style card.  It is held closed with a ribbon.

The inside of the card is decorated with dies from Sizzix and the paper is from Simple Stories. The picture below shows the sentiment that I used for this card. It will be Halloween in just a few weeks and I have just a couple more cards to make.  Thanks for stopping by.
