Golfing in Retirement!

Tulips in Bloom
Spring has arrived in Maine!  My daffodils bloomed last month and were coated in snow and I am happy to show this picture of Tulips with no snow!!   Spring is also a great time to retire.  This is a quick post to show the retirement card for my brother-in-law who retired a couple of weeks ago.  He is an avid golfer and what a better way to show that we know what he is going to be doing.

These shadow cards are so darn cute and easy to make.  Sometimes they are called diorama cards. Creating a hole-in-one, what golfer doesn't wish for that!!  Congratulations Tom!  Enjoy!

Drapery Cards

Love this fold!
These curtain cards are all over pinterest and because it is such a versatile style, I have made a few. They can be a Birthday, Thinking of you, or Anniversary cards, pretty much an All-Occasion card.  They make such a pretty card especially with design series or double sided paper.  I have left one empty with a sentiment so that I can use it for whatever comes up.  Embellishments that I have used sizzix, Die-namic, Spellbinders and Memory box dies with MS butterfly punch and pretty flowers from Michael's $1 bin.  The paper is from Stampin up. Lastly, some lace and pearls added  to the cards.

When making the curtain part of the card, it is all about the scoring. Fun to do, give it a try!  Below is the link to directions for the scoring.

Emma's Favors

Stampin up's Curvy Keepsake die is so great for favors for any kind of party.  My niece, Emma, is graduating from Kennebunk High School in June and my sisters and Emma got together last weekend and made these cute favors for her party.  KHS on the front and on the back is "Congrats Graduate". Kennebunk's school colors are royal blue and white. The paper is Brillant Blue from Stampin up. The tassels are from Amazon.  The tag says "Emma 2016"!  Love how they came out!.  We made a total of 25 favors.  It is always fun to get together with Sisters and do a fun project!

Celebrate!

Just a quick post to show this card for a friend.  Thought this was a cute technique which I think is called a collar card.  I added some balloons which is a MS punch and Tim  Holtz sizzix die -celebrate. The paper is DP from SU, sorry I can't remember the name.  In making this card, you can make a pocket in the front and have a tag come out with a sentiment on it.  That might be what I do next for a card. Thanks for stopping by.

Jungle Birthday!

Love making these Diorama cards!  Our next door neighbor's daughter turns 5 in May and I wanted to make this card for her.  She starts school in the fall and she can't wait!  So cute!  The directions are here on this video!  I found it on pinterest and she is funny because she says, "it is so easy, it is almost embarassing".  Love the way again this folds and can be mailed easily.  The giraffe is punch art and the monkey, which is so cute, is from Elizabeth  Craft dies. The palm tree die is from Memory box dies.  The leaves are from sizzix.

Love this picture from above so you can see the 3 panels that are decorated.  I have made a few of these cards for birthdays and one for Easter, see previous posts.

Punch art lion finishes off this card for little Caroline!  Happy Birthday!

Nurse Phillis

Nurse Phillis
My sister's birthday is this weekend and she is a nurse.  I don't think I have ever given her a nurse card before so I decided to make this punch art nurse.  I made the same one last fall when my neighbor was ill and made it a get well card.  This punch art nurse is from Ellen Kemper. She does a great job and this punch art.   Click here for her blog and punches used for this cute nurse.  All the punches she  used is from Stampin up, except I did have a hand punch from punch bunch.

The card is a trifold style and it was fun to decorate with all the blocks that it has.  I loved that I was able to use a stethoscope and nursing hat brad that I had in my stash.  Such a fun card to make and hope my sister, Phillis has a very happy birthday!!  Thanks for stopping by!

How cute is the nurse hat brad!
Nursing is a noble profession!

Happy Birthday Lenny!

My sister's new husband, Lenny has a birthday next week so I hurried home from our cruise to make him one!!  LOL!  He is an avid hockey fan and he is playing in a hockey league so appropriately I made him a hockey card!  Love making these tent cards.  This one measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 so it will fit in a 5x7 envelope for easy mailing.

Adrianne and Lenny were so good to drop and pick us up from the airport.  I will post some pictures of our cruise soon. The weather was perfect and the seas were calm. Thank you so much Adrianne and Lenny and Happy Birthday Lenny!  Enjoy your special day!
