My brother's birthday isn't until next month but he was visiting last week and my sisters and I didn't want to mail this to him. It is an explosion box with a baseball theme! My sisters and I were at a SeaDogs game in Portland Maine and they were handing out stress baseballs. So this idea came from going to a baseball game.
The paper is from graphic 45 - Gentlemen's collection and also from Good Ole Sport collection. I had a Jolee baseball glove in my stash which was perfect for the stress ball! In each pocket of the explosion box is a sentiment from us. I love this paper and as usual with Graphic 45, it makes the project beautiful!
The top of the box are cut outs of Graphic 45's Good Ole Sport with sizzix bat that says "Have a ball"! My sisters and I got together to make this box for our brother which I think came out pretty good! Happy Birthday Brother!!

Adoption Day Cards
Again this year, I was asked by a teacher at my husband's school to do a couple of Adoption Day cards for her 2 nephrews. One of the boys is going to be 7 and his name is Alan who happens to be blind and loves music. This card is for him! I found this template guitar from http://sarahsinkspot.com/blog/2009/06/u-rock-guitar-card-2.html I used a glitter paper for the guitar so that Alan could feel it. The strings are the gold metallic string from SU which I wrapped around brads at the top and base of the guitar. The card size is 8 x 7 inches. When you open up the card I made the piano from Lynn Pratt (you can go to her blog from my blog, her button is to the left of my blog). She is so talented! I made my own dimensions from her picture to fit my card. The white keys are 4 x 5 1/2 and I drew black lines every 1/2 inch. I scored twice on each side at the 1/2 inch mark. The black keys are measured 5/16 of an inch by 2 1/2 inch and scored the same way only at 1/4 of an inch mark. Then place the black keys in the middle of the black line on the white keys. The sentiment "You rock!" is done in gold embossing powder so that Alan could feel it. There is a lot of texture in this card so I hope Alan enjoys it.
The second card I made was for Alan's brother, Aaron and he is 3 and loves baseball. I wasn't sure what team he liked so I did a generic Red Sox jersey. I used a few punches for this one. The large and small tag punches for the pocket. The frame corner punch for the V neck and I cut free hand the red triangles for the shoulders. The baseball is from nestabilities with red stitching and inked it up with Tim Holtz's Wild Honey. Check out the inside below. Check back with me and I'll let you know how they liked their cards. Thanks for stopping by!
