Birthday for Andrea!

This is a shaker/pop up card for my sister, Andrea's birthday.  Just getting into the shaker style cards and they are fun to make.  There are so many ways to use shaker cards. I love making them.
This is the pop up part of the card.  On the tutorial, she called it a panel pop up card.  She mentioned that you husband who is an engineer helped her with the mechanics of this card which I thought was interesting. Just click here for the tutorial.  She does a great job explaining it.

Lastly, I wanted to share the card that my sister, Chris made for my birthday last week.  It is so cute and I love the mermaid, especially her hair!  It is a shaker card too!  So cool!!

Love it!

Crazy Birds Birthday

I love using my "Crazy Birds" stamps and dies from Tim Holtz.  I know he has cats and dogs out but something about the birds are so funny!!  Another birthday in the family and this time it is my brother-in-law, Tom.  His birthday is tomorrow and I am glad I didn't wait until the last minute.  I have made this type of card before which, I guess, is called a step block card(?).  The paper collection is from Simple Stories and it is called "Say Cheese II".  I have used this paper collection on mini albums when we have gone to DisneyWorld!  Perfect for Mickey and friends.

This is the back of the card with a banner that says "celebrate" and a little sentiment for Tom.  The picture to the right is a side view.  Happy Birthday Tom!

Princess Julia

This card is for our neighbor.  Her birthday was a couple of days ago and she turned 3! She loves Beauty and the Beast!  She went to Disney last winter and  I saw a picture of her in Beauty's dress so I had to make this card for her.  Punch art is always fun to do! The punches and dress die are from Stampin up.

Can't have Beauty and the Beast card without the rose.  I love this die from Elizabeth Craft.  Makes such a gorgeous rose!!  Happy Birthday Julia!  You are so adorable!!

Nautical Birthday Card

I am loving this Z fold card that I saw on pinterest.  July, August and September are all big birthday months in my family, not to mention some friends too!  This one is for a friend whose birthday is next week.  She loves the beach and anything nautical!  The dies that I used are from Die-namics and the paper collection is from Carta Bella, Ship's Ahoy (I think is the name of it).  With the collection, there was a sticker sheet and I used the lighthouse from that sheet and the lobster and crab.  Everything goes so well together, just love it!

I put a sentiment on the inside of the card and on the outside.  See below.  Here is the link for instructions for this Z fold.  Just click here.

This sentiment was on pinterest and added to the back of the card. I thought is was cute for my friend. She will get a kick out of it.  This was fun to do and I think I will make some more with different themes.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy August 1st!

Today is my brother's birthday and he turns 60!  We gave him a surprise party last month and boy, did we surprise him!  It was a great weekend!!  Love these Crazy Birds by Tim Holtz!  They are so versatile!  I love seeing them on a formal looking card in the background and then put one of these birds on it and it makes me laugh every time!!  It is hard to see but I glossy accented the eyes to make them pop even more than they are.  Copic markers were perfect to color and blend.  Happy Birthday Hal again!!

A very good friend had a birthday yesterday, so I have been busy making cards in my very hot craftroom.  I kept the fan right on me!!  My friend, Jan, loves her flower gardens and is always working in them.  How appropriate is this??  Memory box window die was used for the background to give it the feel what she would see out her window.

The back of the card with the sentiment and a sunflower.  Love sunflowers, some of them can get so tall!  Lots of punches and dies used for this card in the box.  Happy Birthday Jan!
