Favorite Daughter's Birthday

Our daughter's birthday was yesterday and I made this card in a box card for her.  She has a beautiful golden retriever and made a cute dog in a box card. I had him holding a heart. Happy Birthday Lindsey!

On the same day, a good friend also has a birthday and her birthday card is below.  Who doesn't love a pink card with flowers!

I couldn't throw away this beautiful leaf shaped bottle. Friends gave us this bottle with maple syrup and it had to be repurposed. I made it into a vase. I have floral in it but because it is glass you could put real flowers in it too. Love the way it came out.

End of August!

These accordion cards have so much room for sentiments. I love making them for this reason and it also shows off pretty cardstock like Graphic 45! This one is for my sister. She, my brother and I always were reminded when our birthdays came in August that the school year was just around the corner. The flowers are a punch from Stampin up.
Here is the card opened up and showing more of the beautiful cardstock. Happy Birthday Andrea!

My sisters and I (Sisters Designs) are getting ready for a craft show in Wells, Maine on September 6th and 7th, Saturday and Sunday.  There is papercrafting items for Halloween, Thanksgiving and a little bit of Christmas also some wall art for your home.  Come on over there is free parking and admission. It is at the Wells Jr High School. Can't wait!

Another August Milestone!

This card is for a friend who also just turned 70! It has been quite a year with a lot of friends from elementary and high school turning 70. This card is a triple fold card. The paper is from Graphic 45 and I think it is called "Bloom".

This card is a crate with beer and I used a Stampin up stamp set for the front of the card.  Below is a side view of the card and it folds up great for mailing. So who doesn't love beer for his birthday! LOL!

My last project is actually a pin that I made for a friend who is going through chemotherapy and she had a wonderful nurse for her first infusion. So she and I decided to make this pin for her to wear.

End of July Birthdays

This style card is a pop out middle panel card. It is all about scoring. Love how it turned out with Graphic 45's Couture paper collection. Happy Birthday Adrianne!

Another beautiful Graphic 45 paper collection called Typography which might be retired at this point. It's another birthday card which is a variation of the tri-shutter card. Love the accordion in the middle of the card. This style card closes up perfectly to mail it. Happy Birthday Joni!

Lastly, the flying seagull card. It is fun how the center panel pops out when the card opens. Another Graphic 45's paper collection called Ocean Blue  which I have used so much for cards.  Such a fun style card to make and I think it has a "Wow" factor to it. Happy Birthday Mary!

Three different style cards which can be found on youtube with their tutorials. Thank you for stopping by and checking out these cards.

Summer Celebrations

July as well as August are busy birthdays and anniversaries celebrations! This card is for my sister and her husband.  The focus is on butterflies which I have seen all around my yard. They are loving the coneflowers! Happy Anniversary Chris & Tom!

This style card was a fun card to make. It is a Quadruple Z-fold card. I have seen the tutorial on youtube for a couple of different people and thought I would give it a try. Love finding new fun folds especially when there is plenty of room to put your sentiments. This one happens to be a "thank you" for a friend. I used the Ocean Blue Graphic 45's collection and also By the Sea collection.

Thank you for stopping by and I have to leave you with some summer fun! We now have a petting zoo in our pool!

Summer has Arrived!

May and June has been a busy month for the Petersen household. We left on May 26th for a Viking Cruise which I will show photos later and I wanted to get my cards and projects done before I left. This card is for my sister, Adrianne and her husband Lenny, who have been married for 10 years! Where has the time gone!? I love making these book fold cards especially when you have photos to show. Graphic 45's By the Sea collection was used for this Anniversary card.

I was also busy making favors for "The Greely Girls" get together which was June 18th. We all have a monumental birthday this year. We all turn 70! Again, where has the time gone? We were lucky to have a great day because this spring has been really weird with a lot of rainy days.  Below are photos of the favors for the birthday girls and favors for the husbands. Also a photo of the 7 of us young looking ladies. Love them all!

My next post will be photos of our Viking Cruise which was in a word,  SPECTACULAR! So glad we finally got to go since we were suppose to go in 2020 but as we all know, Covid happened.  Happy July Everyone! It is a beautiful day in Maine today!

One last photo of a poster I made to remind us all what was going on in 1955!

Bandstand Cards

I watched a tutorial from Mixed Up Crafts by Sam and Iced Images also had a tutorial for this style card. I love making different style cards and these two are always coming up with something different. There is plenty of room on the back of this card for the sentiment. There are different sizes for this style card too! It folds perfectly to put in the mail. This particular size is a 6x6 but I know there is a tutorial for 5x7 and 8x8. Happy Birthday Jane!

Here is another Bandstand card using Graphic 45's By the Seal

Our Annual Kentucky Derby!

This is the centerpiece for the table on Kentucky Derby Day which was May 3rd.  I made the favors from a tutorial which is called tent boxes but I made the flap go over the top for the closure.  The Gold image is from my Cricut. I added the roses and the bows.  I think it came out great!

Here is a picture of the table for the 8 of us! Plus this past winter our friends and I found Kentucky Derby glasses in flea markets in Florida. The picture below is just one of the glasses we found but we did end up with 9 of them. None of us like Mint Julips so we made gin and tonics! Our friend Lynne, makes the best Gin & Tonics!  Thank you!

More April Cards

This is a Z fold card for my hairdresser's 70th Birthday. He lives near the Spring Point in South Portland Maine and does some running. I used Graphic 45's "By the Sea" paper collection. The runner is an image from my Cricut and plenty of dies that I have. Here are more photos of the. inside of the card.

I have found a new tutorial for a card that is called Bandstand card. I have made about 3 cards with this style. The tutorial that I found was Iced Images and Mixed Up crafts. Both of these tutorials were easy to follow and you can do different sizes.

April has been a busy month. My husband and I take care of my daughter's son, Oliver when she works. Olllie had a guest for a week to play with and her name is Pepper. She is so adorable! My long time good friend from elementary school took a vacation to Florida with her husband so we took care of Pepper. Here is some pictures of the two of them together. It was a fun fun week! Loving these two pups! Missing Pepper so much!
