Happy Birthday to a little lamb!

This was such an adorable little lamb I had to make it for my brother's granddaughter's 1st birthday.  Her birthday was Thursday but today they celebrated with a party.  They live in New Jersey and since tomorrow is Easter we weren't able to attend.  Another card I saw on pinterest that was so cute!  The body is nestabilities' scallop heart, hind legs nestabilities scallop ovals as well as the ears.  I sponged pink inside the ears with Pretty in Pink.  The top of the head is an oval nestability and the head is a circle scallop nestability. The nose is half a circle. The feet are all round punches.  The grass is a sizzix die.  The inside of the cards reads "Happy Birthday is a little lamb".

Happy Birthday Amelia!
Amelia could have an Easter birthday someday!  She is simple adorable and looks just like her mother, Jill when Jill was this age!! I am sure this little lamb had a great day!!!

Easter Bunnies

Chubby
These are the cutest Easter bunnies!!! Once again I saw them on pinterest and you can check them out here.
She calls them chubby bunnies!  I think she made this chubby bunny as an easel card but I thought it would be fun to make them for my coworkers  as a little bag with the sizzix Bigz bag die.  I am not sure what was used but I used the biggest nestability scallop circle for the body.  The wide oval SU punch for the feet and ears. Circle punches for the hands and whiskers.  Also a tiny little heart punch for the nose. Check out below for the back of the bag.  I did another variation using the Top Note die from SU and you can check out where I got the idea here.  The Top Note variation gave him some whiskers which I just used my paper crimper and cut thin strips. The only difference is that I used nestabilities oval for the ears.

Not so chubby

Filled them up with pink grass and candy and then I was done. I  know I have said this before but I did have a lot of fun making these cute little bunnies.  So adorable!!!  I made 6 of them and they were a hit at the office.  Put a smile on everyone's face!!

Happy Easter everyone!!!

Adorable tail!
Which one do you like the best?

95 Pleasant Poppies

Tomorrow is our Aunt Nan's birthday!  She will be 95!!  She is a delightful person. Aunt Nan really knows how to enjoy life. Some of her adventures have been white water river rafting in her 70's, playing tennis well into her 70's, and just last year at this time tandem skydiving!!  Just last fall she fell and broke her hip and did well after surgery but since the beginning of this year she has declined.   So I wanted to cheer her up a bit because she does like it when I make her a card.  Love SU Pleasant Poppies so decided to make a card with this stamp.  It is hard to see but I used Crystal Effects on the poppies to make them "pop".  Happy Birthday Aunt Nan!!!

Family Easter Baskets

Time again to make some Easter Baskets for the family.  On pinterest I saw this tutorial which has 2 parts. The first video and then the second for this basket.  It is really very easy but you will need the sizzix scallop envelope die also some ribbon, DP, solid cardstock, decorative brads and decorative border punch.  I also did a purple one which is shown below.  It is a really good size basket which measures 5 1/2-6 inches roundish.

I can't decide whether or not to glue the flaps down or not.  Hope you enjoyed this little basket and try to make one for your family.  Easter will be here before you know it!  Happy Easter  Everyone!!

Happy St Patrick's Day/Mary's Walk 2013

A chilly day for a walk but, nevertheless, a good day to raise money for cancer research.  Mary's Walk does just that!  Raising to date, 2 million dollars for cancer research.  My husband and I have only been a part of this walk since 2011 when his secretary for 26 years died of liver cancer in January of 2011.  So many people have been touched by cancer, whether it is a family member or friend and the stories are so moving. Team Orr was not as big as the first year that we walked but still was a good turnout.

Kim Block was the Master of Ceremonies and had her own story to tell. Her father died of cancer at the age of 59 so she is very connected raising money for cancer research.

Opening ceremonies

Sea of Green

Let the walk/run begin. Just so happens this year the walk is on St Patrick's Day.   I would definitely stay away from Main Street in Saco on this day every year.  Traffic was stopped for at least 20-30 minutes while runners/walkers went through the traffic lights downtown.  The intersection of North Street and Main Street was backed up for miles.  Check out all the green in the pictures of the walkers and runners!!!

Great way to celebrate St Patrick's Day!!!

Easter bunny is coming!

This is another fun card for Easter than I saw on pinterest. I used Tim Holtz woodgrain EF for the tree background.  The bunny's bottom is the 1 3/8 inch circle punch from SU-just need to make the hole in the tree a little bit bigger.  SU "little leaves" for the foliage and SU trio blossoms for the flowers and the bunny's little tail.  I sponged around the sentiment and his little tail.

Inside the card, I used the ornament punch for his head and oval punches for his ears (front of the card and inside the card). For his feet, I used the tab punch.  Circle punches were used for the hole in the tree (sponged it blue for the blue sky) bunny's body, eyes and small heart punch for the nose.  So adorable!
Going to send this to my son and his girlfriend, they get a kick out of punch art.  I know they will enjoy this one!  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Easter to you all!

Shamrocks for St Patrick

Another card that I saw on Pinterest caught my eye for my son, Eric and his girlfriend, Lauren.  Oneof the cards  is 3 dimensional and the other is not.  I sent him the one on the left that is 3D.  I used SU heart punch. I punched out 6 of them and embossed them with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dot EF and folded 3 of them in half and just put them on the top of the 3 on the bottom. The stem is from SU bird punch. I had some glittery shamrocks from Michael's and added them for a little touch of bling.  The background of the card on the right is from an embossing folder I found on ebay--more shamrocks!!  The white hearts were sponged on the side with SU Garden Green ink.

Irish and English is my heritage so I couldn't let St. Patrick's Day go by without a card to celebrate!  Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!!

March Sympathy

This is a sympathy card that I made for my husband's secretary.  Her father died this past week.  He was 89 years young. I wanted to use spring colors since March is the beginning of spring.  SU's "Just Believe" stamp set is a beautiful set.  For the background I used my new honeycomb embossing folder also from SU and added some yellow rhinestones to keep with the cream, yellow and green colors. I saw something similar to this card on pinterest.  I wanted to show you but I couldn't find it and I didn't pin it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Cigar Box

My sisters and I went to "Absolutely Everything" in Topsfield, Mass about 6 weeks ago and all of us bought a cigar box to decorate.  Just finally getting around to decorate mine.  With the help of Tim Holtz great hardware and feet, I put the finishing touches on yesterday.  I am pretty happy with the way it came out.  It has a Victoria/vintage feel. The corner frames, key and clock face are from the Recollection line at Michael's.  The flowers are prima flowers  The paper is Graphic 45.  Check out below for more pictures inside and out!

Tim Holtz's rosetta die is amazing!  Love it with the pearl brad!

Love this knob!

The lace is from a favorite store in Bath, Maine called Tate's. It is really prettier in person than in the picture.  The butterflies on the front are from K & Company which I have had for a while. I thought the colors were pretty and would make the front "pop" a little.  Love, love, love Tim Holtz's feet on this box!  I want to decorate another one just to use the "feet". This is going on my dresser for special treasures!  Thanks for stopping by!
