Fun Fold Birthday Cards

This is a different style card that I made for my SIL's birthday next week. Since she has a November birthday, I felt Graphic 45's sunflowers were a perfect match for her birthday month! We have had a beautiful fall here in the Northeast but it is starting to get a little chilly. Thankfully, the sun is still shining! This style card is called an Inside-Out Stepper Card. If you go to youtube and search for Inside-Out Stepper Card, you will find tutorials on this style card. There is plenty of room on the back for the sentiment as pictured below.
My next birthday card has a couple of names for it. It is called Triple Floating Diamond Card or Triple Pop-out Diamond Card. This was a fun, fun, fun card to make. My BIL's girlfriend's birthday is coming up at the end of this month. Since they live on the West Coast, I had to get it in the mail. This style card is much like the Flying Geese cards but it has 3 panels.
Here are a few more pictures of this style card. The best part is decorating this card. I am always amazed by these style cards and who created them. I am so thankful for all of the tutorials for different style cards. I love my hobby!!!

Welcome November!

Our Japanese Maple Tree is in full bloom now! It is beautiful every year at this time! Love Fall! We had a very successful Craft Fair last weekend. We met some people that we have seen before and some new people. They all loved our items. It is always a fun way to start November each year.
Our friends son and his wife finally were able to adopt the 2 girls that they have been waiting for several years to do. We are so happy for them. I made a Family Tree adoption card for them with all their names on the tree. Beautiful Family!
These trifold angled cards are my new obsession. I have made a few of these and it is perfect for any occasion and gives you lots of room for decorating and also sentiment. This one is for a friend's birthday coming up. I used Graphic 45's Woodland Friends. Enjoy November everyone!

Happy Halloween!

It is a beautiful day here in Maine on Halloween! It is suppose to get up to the low 70's. The lucky little globins that come to our house tonight will not have to wear coats over their cute costumes. My sisters and I are getting ready for our Craft Fair this weekend at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland. We have done this fair for the past 6 or 7 years. It is always so busy especially the line for the Italian food that they sell. Here are a few things, I have been working on--
The Turkey is a gift box which is so cute. His head comes off! It is fun to reuse items like the sewing drawer for a centerpiece. "Let It Snow" wall art is perfect for this time of year because in the next few weeks it could snow! Come on over to the Craft Fair and check off names on your Christmas list!

Christmas Craft Fair

I have a new obsession, the busted frame. This one is for the craft fair that my sisters and I are doing in about 2 weeks in Portland, Maine. Love making them. The picture is from a Christmas Gift bag that I had in my stash. They are pretty easy to do but it does have a few steps to follow and I found this on Pinterest. There are quite a few tutorials on youtube.
This layered Christmas scene is the first one I have done with my cricut. It is not lighted because of all the layers but I love how it came out. My second red truck item. Everyone loves a red truck. It really shows up. So come on over to the Italian Heritage Center's food and craft fair in Portland Maine on Saturday, November 2nd from 9-3pm. It is always a busy fair especially for the Italian cookies and breads!

Nautical Busted Canvas

Graphic 45's beach/nautical themed paper collection is one of my favorites and I have used it for so many cards and projects. This busted canvas is another project that I just had to use it. It was great for putting seashells for embellishments because it actually protects them a little because of the curled canvas. Sometimes I'm afraid to use shells on projects because they get broken. Love how this came out and I'm not sure that I am going to sell or keep. Big decision!!
My son's birthday is coming up and he and his wife bought an outside pizza oven. The pizza that they made for my husband and I when we visited them in May was terrific. I thought what a great card to make for his birthday! I love this pop up slide card! I actually have made it without a die but this card was made with a die. Happiest of birthdays Eric!

Hello October!

Love making these flying easel cards. It is easy to use a picture for a celebration especially for anniversaries! October 7th is my son and daughter-in-law's 2nd anniversary. I can't believe it has been 2 years, time flies by! Happy Anniversary Eric & Sabrina, love you both! Here is another anniversary card that I made for my sister and her husband, 19 years! I used a picture from their wedding also!
The pictures above are a birthday card for a friend. She loves crafting and I thought I would send her a card to get her creative juices flowing. I made the trifold variation for her. Happy Birthday Cindy!

September Birthdays and Anniversaries!

My daughter-in-law's birthday is tomorrow and here is her card. It is a book card. I love the graphic 45's sunflower collection which is perfect for September's birthdays! There is plenty of room on the back for a sentiment. Happy Birthday Sabrina! We love you!
Another birthday card for a friend's granddaughter who has 3 cats. I thought this cat die was perfect for her card since there are 3! Happy Birthday Chloe!
Lastly I have this trifold variation for an anniversary card for my brother and his wife. I love using pictures for cards. I think this was so perfect for them. Happy Anniversary Hal & Charlotte! Love you guys!

Busted Canvas Technique

I have been watching some tutorials on youtube on how to make these "Busted Canvas" projects and had to give it a try. I used IOD transfers, which are always beautiful, for the focal point which is on drop cloth and then I painted the canvas. The back of the canvas has designer paper that I mod podged and then cut to show it on the front of the canvas. It is rolled and then hot glued to keep it where it is placed. This project is on a bigger canvas which measures 20 x 16. I have some more ideas for more of these "Busted Canvas" but will do a small version of this technique. It would be fun to do a nautical, fall and Christmas design. Love doing this technique!
My good friend's granddaughter has a birthday tomorrow and I wanted to show you the card I made for her. She loves her 3 cats so how appropriate is this card? She is going to be 13 and loves crafts so I hope she enjoys this one! Happy Birthday Chloe!

Lindsey's Birthday!

This is sort of a new fold for me to make. I thought it was a cool fold for our daughter's birthday card. She wanted lobsters and steamed clams for her birthday dinner so I thought the card should match it. There is still plenty of room on the back for a sentiment and it closes up perfectly for mailing too!
Here is a picture of Lindsey this spring in Denmark! She fit the Denmark profile, blonde and tall! Happy Birthday Lindsey! Love you!

September is here!

I wanted to showcase blackeyed susan flowers for this birthday box card. I haven't made one of these in a long time and thought I would do it for my friend's birthday. In the middle of the card, I used a plastic "happy birthday" sign that was on a cupcake that was given to me for my birthday. It is great to re-use something that works for cards or other projects. Here are a couple more pictures of this card.
My Blackeyed Susans are lasting so long. They started blooming the first week in August and are still going strong! They are beautiful!

End of August Birthday!

A Birthday Card for my sister, Andrea. Her birthday was last week and I used Tim Holtz barrel die with his flowers. Her daughter's birthday is the same day so they get to celebrate together. Such a special celebration for both of them every year! Happy Birthday Andrea! I'm obsessed with the book folding technique. Here is the hedgehog version. Love that I had this little hat for him! He is adorable!

More Projects and Cards!

I am having fun with the book folding techniques. On Pinterest there have been some really cute witches. I decided to make one too! Her hat is from black felt which I made to fit her head. Her broom was pretty easy to make too. The book/dress is inked and then sprayed with Prima Marketing purple sprayed mist. My centerpiece for Halloween is done!
Rocker cards are a fun style card to make. I think I will make more of these. My brother-in-law's birthday was last week and I always do a golf card but had to do something different this year. Love how this came out! Happy Birthday Tom!
