November Fun!

I made this pumpkin centerpiece for our craft fair that we had at the beginning of the month.  In October I made one for myself and have it on my dining room table. The pumpkins are from HomeGoods and Michael's. The base are candlesticks that I found at our local Goodwill.

Perfect Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Here are a couple other items that we are featuring at our next craft fair. I need to give credit to my sisters who made these cute craft projects. Love these items. Now it is time to work on my Christmas cards! Thanks for stopping by.

Our First Sept Craft Fair

I have been making a few things this past week for the craft fair that we are having on the September 6th and 7th at the Wells Jr High School. This project is a seashell that I painted and put some transfers on it and then glued it to a painted candlestick.  It makes a cute ring/jewelry holder to put on top of your bureau. I think I'm going to make another one.

Here are some close up pictures of what we have for the craft fair. I know I posted some last week but wanted to show the individual pieces. It is the first time we have done one in September which is gonna be fun because we are able to make some Halloween things.

I made these 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Halloween candy boxes to hand out to treat or treaters.  I'm going to put "Happy Halloween" on the top which I'll do tomorrow.  I think they are a perfect size for Halloween. Hope we have a good turn out this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

My Huckleberry Pie for our Thanksgiving Day family get together! This is the first time I have made a Huckleberry pie and it came out great! With all the juicy berries, you do have to remember to put a cookie sheet under it when you put it in the oven because it will overflow with juices. It does taste much like blueberries but maybe a little tart. It is so good!
My centerpiece for the table which was fun to put together. I love the pilgrims and the turkey. Wanted to show everyone my Fall project that I finished last week. I mod podged a fall napkin on 3 oval wooden plaques and glued on a wood square. It came out just how I wanted it to come out which doesn't always happen, LOL! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Turkey Month

Now that Halloween is over, I started making little curvy keepsake turkeys for our Thanksgiving table.  I made a couple extras for friends.  I saw these on Pinterest and thought they were adorable and I haven't used my curvey keepsake die from Stampin up in a while so this was perfect.  The feathers are from Die-namics and the neck and head are punches from Stampin up too.  Don't you just love using the googly eyes!!  The sentiment on the back of the turkey is from Stampin up.  It was fun making them.

Thanksgiving Fun!

Place Holders
Last Saturday, I had a little craft day with my friend's granddaughter, Chloe.  I will show you at the end of this post what we made.  We had a lot of fun but my friends, Anna and Lynne both contracted me to make them these place  holders for their Thanksgiving dinner.  The total was 26 for both of their families and I just finished them this morning!  It is a box with a card which I will post the video instructions below.  I showed them this birthday box in a card and they were thrilled that I would make them.  I used different paper collections for these cards and I used dies from Lawn Fawn and Impression Obsession. The leaves from Lawn Fawn are stitched leaves which are so lovely.  The pine cones I got at Michaels which were the perfect size for these boxes.

The box is measured 2x2 which is plenty of room for a small gift or candy like Hersey's kisses.  I actually counted 14 Hersey's kisses would fit.  The instructions are below but I made a platform for the box - so instead of cutting out the 2x4 rectangle I cut it so that it made a little stand for the box.  I did it just so the card stood up a little better.  My only suggestion is to make sure you use thick cardstock for the base.

Here are some more pictures of the Gift box in a card - I took them a little bit closer for viewing.

Love the little pinecones
On Craft Day, we made little turkey favors out of toilet paper holders and pinwheels using We R Memory Keepers punch board.  The turkeys were made with a series of triangle cuts starting with the head. It was a success for all!!  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving 2016

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and visit with friends and family.  Just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and to share this cute favor for the 15 people coming to our house for Thanksgiving.  I saw this cute pumpkin favor on Pinterest and wanted to make it for Thanksgiving place settings.  Changed the decoration on the front a bit but the basic construction is the same.  It was really fun and easy to make.   Below are some close up pictures of it and also picture of my Thanksgiving tables!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Here are a few of the ones I made!

Thankful!

Here is a quick post for a card that was needed this week. I made this Thanksgiving turkey for a Thank you card.  My husband wanted a Thank you card for the nurse that helps him with his therapy.  I saw this on Pinterest and used Stampin up punches, the large oval punch for his head and feathers, and then tab punch for legs, circle punch for body, hands and beak are the 5-point flower punch and also the scallop punch his lower body.  The sentiment is also an old Stampin up stamp collection. Love the googly eyes!!    Punch art is so much fun to create animals and just about anything you want and you will find it all on Pinterest!

From the deck
First snow fall last night and even though, we know winter is upon us and can be dreaded, it is so pretty!  It probably will be gone by this afternoon or tomorrow but we can enjoy it for a little while and no worries I am sure more will be on the way!

Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Turkey Day!  I took this picture a couple of years ago near my sister's house and loved it. People have these inflatables for every holiday.  Love seeing them!  This turkey is huge!

For Jeremiah

My daughter's boyfriend and my boss have birthdays coming up so I made the same card for them because they both love music.  I saw this card on pinterest and thought this would be perfect. I have been told that vinyl records are making a come back.  So happy Birthday to Jeremiah and Steve!
For Steve

Happy Thanksgiving to  everyone!  Today is the first holiday without my Mom and Dad. We all thought of them the whole day.  Mom loved Thanksgiving.  She would start about 3 days before Thanksgiving making pies.  She made just about every pie that you could imagine.  She wanted to make sure that everyone had their favorite.  My siblings and I were very lucky to have such wonderful parents.  We also have wonderful memories of them at Thanksgiving!

Thankful & Grateful

Thanksgiving is this Thursday and I was in my craftroom today finishing up some cards I made for friends and relatives.  Lovely as a Tree stamp set is one of my favorite sets from SU!  This is the first time I used the Wandering Words stamp set from SU.  I love how this card came together!  Check out this card on pinterest which is where I found my inspiration!!  I embossed the trees with gold and sponged distress black soot for the ground and spicey marmalade for the sky.  Below are some more pictures of other cards I made with different colored cardstock framing the card.   They will be in the mail tomorrow.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Sorry that this inside sentiment is sideways but I loved the poem for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving 2011

So cute!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  A day late but nevertheless it is still the Thanksgiving weekend.  We had a wonderful holiday at my sister and her husband's house in Yarmouth, Maine. They have just moved into their new home this past summer and decided to have the Thanksgiving meal for about 15 of us in all.  No small task and everything was wonderful.  The food delicious! The tables were beautiful, even Martha Stewart would approve.  After the dishes were done we even had a little energy to put up the Christmas tree!

Love the centerpiece!
Check out this centerpiece!
Oh Christmas Tree!
Now on to the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday season!  With the snow that we got on Thanksgiving Eve, we truly ready to start the shopping and everything else that comes with the season!  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays to everyone!
