Sabrina's Explosion Box

Made the bow from the Envelope Punch Board

Love this tutorial from Sabrina Radeck! She does a great job explaining this explosion box.  My sisters and I purchased this tutorial from her.  She uses the 12 days of Christmas Graphic 45 paper.  I wanted to make one first before I use the Graphic 45 paper, which is gorgeous!!!  The instructions on Sabrina's blog are very easy to follow.  Check out more pictures below of the inside of the box.

I haven't finished decorating the inside yet. I like the fact you can put pictures on the outside of each of the folders and the journaling can be on the tags.  Have fun making this!!!

Lots of room for pictures!

Brother-in-law Birthday!

Sometimes 2 candles!
This card is for my brother-in-law from my husband.  They always give each other funny, sometimes off color hilarious cards so this year my husband thought it would be funny for me to make him a card!  Mark is going to say that he made it! NOT!  I love this building block technique which is on splitcoaststampers.  You will love making them too!  I wanted a colorful one for him since he is very colorful!  The sentiment reads, You know you are getting old when you get that one candle on your cake.  It's like, "see if you can blow this out." J Seinfeld  Love it.  For some embellishments I used SU punches, nestabilities, MS punch and look at the pictures below and you will see Mickey Mouse's hand holding the balloons!!

Love Jerry Seinfeld!

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!  I made some Valentine hearts for my husband's co-workers. I found them on pinterest!  So easy to make with just nestabilities largest regular heart and scallop heart. I put some chocolate inside them.  I think my new cupid from impression obsession is adorable!!

Cute!

Eric's Valentine

I just finished making my son's Valentine. It is called a Building Block card.  I saw the tutorial on pinterest and thought it was adorable and as she says it can be used for almost any occasion.  It really is very easy!!
The tutorial is from Splitcoast but here it is from pinterest.  I used memory box dies, nestabilities, sizzix and the three dimensional heart on the front that says Hugs & Kisses is from Walmart which I found for only a dollar and I got a bunch as you can see.    Check out more pictures below but I have to run to put it in the mail tomorrow!!

Many Thanks!

Another card in a box but this one is a petite size that will fit in a standard envelope which is always good!.  The other ones I have made are larger and takes anywhere from $.80 to $1.20 for postage depending on the embellishments.  My sister, Chris at callalilystudioblog.blogspot.com told me about this petite size at Tanya Bell blog.  She gives a good tutorial on how to make this smaller version of card in the box.

This card is a thank you to my former boss who moved to New Hampshire and he and his wife sent my husband and I a big box of Honeybells from Florida.  A little bit of Florida during this cold winter is always welcome.  The Honeybells are unbelievable juicy!!!  Love, love, love them!  I remember that they like bird watching and so does my husband so I wanted to make this one with birds. The paper and punches are from SU.  The flowers are from prima.   It won't be long (I hope) before spring will be here! I can't wait for the birds to start singing!! and warm sunshine!!

Valentine Hearts

I can't stop making these card in a box cards. Already started on my Valentine's Day cards for this year!  I used glitter and shiny red paper for the hearts as well as design paper and it is a combination of a lot of different lines. The hearts are spellbinders and MS punch. I still want to make another card in the box for a thank you card.  Still more pictures below.

Big Birthday!

My husband's birthday is Monday, Jan 20th and he will turn 60. It is a biggie so I wanted to make a card showing something that he loves to do which is soccer. He played in high school, college and coached summer leagues, high school, and premier leagues.  Soccer has been a big part of our lives with him coaching both our son and daughter.  Love the card in the box card so how cute is it to make it into a soccer design.  The shirt is orgami and the other embellments are from Michael's (just stickers).  Can't remember the line of stickers but the Happy Birthday sentiment is from sizzix.  The sides of the box are embossed with Stampin up's octagon folder.  Looks like soccer balls! Check out below more pictures.  I love the sentiment which I found on the internet.  So true!

Happy 2014!

It has been 7 days since the beginning of the new year and I realized that I hadn't put on my blog my Christmas cards for 2013. I saw these two cards on pinterest and thought they were adorable and I needed a quick card so I thought I would do this one. Although, sometimes punch art is not quick but I do love putting these cute snowmen together!  I used circle and oval punches for the snowmen bodies.  The hats were also oval with tab punch for one hat and word window and square punch for the other hat.  The scarves were both word window punch.  The snowflake is from SU.  The paper I used is from Authentique Christmas paper.  Pearls were used on both cards for a little bit of embellishing.

Now that the New Year is here here are some pictures from our New Year's Eve party.  We celebrate every year with friends and this year was no exception.  It was a lot of fun!  Happy New Year!!!
