Schoolhouse Retirement Card!

Schoolhouse for a teacher that is retiring!  How perfect is this.  I saw this type of card on Pinterest as a house and because it is a perfect shape for any building structure, such as house, church, bank or schoolhouse!  Here is the card that I saw on Pinterest that gave me this idea for a retirement card.  Just click here for the link to make this style card.  It is the pop up 4 panel card without the panels.  I used punches from Stampin up and the gold bell is from punch bunch.

You can see how the mechanism works for the 4-panel pop up card in this picture and is perfect for a schoolhouse, etc.   It stands up really well.  Make sure you use heavy cardstock like SU's.  Really loved putting this card together!  Happy Retirement and Congratulations to Dolores!!

Birthday Album!

Birthdays Galore this month!  Here is  a punch art, easel card for my brother-in-law's birthday next week.  Brothers' Johnson was "a favorite album" of his.  I guess I should say it is an inside joke.

For this record player, I used mostly circle punches and dies.  The music notes are from Memory box and cuttlebug EF was used for the record pad.  Easel cards are easy to display and I never get tired of making them.  Enjoy your day Lenny!

St Patrick's Face

I love doing punch art and this St Patrick's Day card was fun to make!  I have made it before and wanted to make a St Patrick's Day card for my son.  So here it is again!  Some SU punches and Spellbinders dies were used for this card!  I added a few emerald gems!!

I have been working on succulents that I have seen on Pinterest but I don't have the SU stamps and dies so  I am using some other dies and punches I have!  See you soon to show you this!

Retirement Card

This is a 4-panel retirement card for a teacher that my husband, Mark, hired and now she is retiring.  I made this card as a birthday card for my sister, Andrea, in August and there was a lot of measuring. This card has a different tutorial that my other sister, Chris, showed me and it is a little easier and I think I will make more of these.  The tutorial is easy to follow so all you need to do is click here.  You should really try it; it is very easy to follow!  On the front is the Elizabeth Craft rose die which I use a lot and love a lot!!  The paper collection is from Graphic 45 - Time to Flourish!

Here is the inside with the four panels.  Each panel has a topic and are labelled Relax, Retire, Refresh and Rejuvenate!  I used punch art to display each topic on the panels.  Below are pictures of each panels which show the panels up close.  This is a fun card to make!   Tomorrow is the party for Doreen who is a well deserved teacher heading into retirement!!  Congratulations Doreen!!
Relax=Vacation, Retire=No more clocks
Refresh = Drink, Rejuvenate = Music

60th Baseball Card

Here is the card to go with the previous post for my brother's 60th birthday.  He has been a player of baseball and has just loved the game since he was a Little League player.  He is crazy for the game and as a New York Yankees fan, I made baseball the theme.  This is a sizzix die  and the ball is handmade.

I added a flap so there was more room to add sentiments and "old age" quotes.   The stickers were from Michael's which is always fun to use!

This is the back of the card and I love the sentiment on this side.  My husband came up with it. It is hard to see but it says, "If your life was a baseball game, you would be in extra innings!"  Love it! Again hoping he is surprised and hoping for good weather!  Happy 60th Birthday Hal!  We really do love you!!

Birthday Pup!

I saw this cute punch art dog on pinterest and immediately thought to make it for my husband's birthday.  Today is Mark's birthday and he is such a dog lover!! Me too but he has had dogs in his life since he was a baby.  So I thought it was about time to make him one.  Gretel is our golden retriever and she is 10 years old and has just been diagnosed with congestive heart failure so we don't know how much longer we will have her.  This is a perfect card for so many reasons!

Check out this card on pinterest. Unfortunately, I didn't find what punches were used so I did my own thing and I think it came out very similar.  I used circles, ovals, tab and bird punches.

Happy Birthday Husband!

See you later!

We didn't want to say good-bye to Landyn, so we just say see you later.  Landyn has worked for the other doctor in the same space that I work with Dr. Donnelly.  Because the space is small, we are all very close so both physically and personally.  Landyn is a young mother and we love seeing her daughter's milestones and see her grow.  Landyn graduated from college and is onto full time work as a Medical Assistant.  We are so happy for her.

I love these building block cards and love making them.  Minions are fun!  I have a board on pinterest that is just Minions because they are just so cute plus I thought Landyn's daughter would get a kick out of them.  Punch art is always so fun to do too!  Good luck to you Landyn!!  We love you!!

Feel Better Soon!

Just a quick post to show you a punch art nurse that I saw on pinterest here.  A friend just got out of the hospital after some surgery and wanted to make him this card.  It's a building block card and a fun card to make.  Wishing him a speedy recovery for sure.

Hope you are back on your feet soon!

Summer 60th!

Another beachcomber turning 60!  Mary is my bestie!!  She turns 60 before me!!  Her birthday is next week and she lives in Narragansett, Rhode Island so I am getting this in the mail today or tomorrow.  Narragansett is known for it's beaches and sailing.  Again the perfect paper to use is Graphic 45 - By the Sea!  The box card is the elongated version so could get more sailboat boats in it. A total of 4, hard to see the 4th.  She loves the sun so had to add the bright sun as the focal point.  Happy 60th Birthday Mary!! Your the best!  Check out more pictures below.

Another 60th Birthday!

A quick post for a card I made for another friend turning 60 years old on Sunday! She is a flight attendant with Delta Airlines so here is my card for her.  This card is a die from Sizzix.  The paper, I used, is from Graphic 45 called "Come Away With Me".  Love this paper, it is soooooo pretty! Punch art airplane was fun to make. All the punches for the plane was from SU.

This is the inside the card. I used SU's cupcake punch to make the clouds and then embossed them.  I hope she likes it.  Just love this paper!!  Happy Birthday Audrey! Enjoy!

Classic Birthday

My husband, Mark asked me to make a card for his brother's birthday.  They had a Black VW car growing up and I thought it would be a great card for Sandy!  I have made a VW punch art card in the past and loved doing it.  Love how all these punches come together to make a car.  All of the punches are from SU.  I used the ovals, circles, word window and tab punches.  The road in the background is Spellbinders nestabilities paisley die.  The sentiment inside is "From one classic to another".  Happy Birthday Sandy!!

My Goofy!

To my Goofball!
My husband's birthday is tomorrow. Just a little about him, he loves telling jokes and he always has one to tell!!  His memory is unbelievable when it comes to telling jokes but not so good when he is looking for his wallet!  I asked him what his favorite Disney character and he told me Goofy.  I remembered that I saw a punch art Goofy on pinterest.  The picture I found on pinterest didn't give the different punches that they used so I used what I thought would work.  The punches I used were all from Stampin up.  I used the large oval for the snout and the small oval for the jaw, lip and tongue. The eyes are actually nestabilities oval. The ears are the tab punch.  The hat is the oval punch, and the wide oval punch.    The inside sentiment I wrote to my goofball!!!  He loves to tease me about cards I make but he really does think it is amazing.  Love him to pieces!! Happy Birthday Husband!!!  Love you!

Final Christmas Projects

Gingerbread Houses have all been finished and filled with candy for some co-workers.  I made one earlier and posted the tutorial for the milk carton which is the base of the gingerbread house and then decorated using punches, and more punches.  I found some candy cane and peppermint candy stickers at Michael's. On the roof, I used glitter on the snow.  The side of the house are the windows with wreaths and peppermints on the fence!  So much fun to make and decorate!!

Front & side views!
Years ago I decorated a bunch of paint cans for neighbors and friends for Christmas!  We also did them for a craft night at the office where I worked at the time.    I saw something similar to this in a picture on pinterest and thought I would try decorating one for my boss.  I filled it with homemade Christmas goodies!!  Check out the pictures below on the top of the can and a card for a friend, both are punch art!!  Santa and a singing reindeer!!  Have seen many on different ones on SC and pinterest and all are so adorable!!  Love creating them!

Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Singing reindeer punch art too!

December Football

Here are two birthday cards for two guys that love football and also share the same birth date which is December 18th.  I didn't want to make the same one so I decided to make them a little different. Both of them are punch art which is so much fun to do!! To the left, Russ' card (my brother-in-law) is the football with the goal posts which was embossed with cuttlebug EF and used Die-namics grass.  I need to add something else to the card by the sentiment. I am just not sure what yet.  The inside sentiment which is not shown says, "May your birthday bring you all the things that make you smile like football!"

Close up look!  Have a ball!
The other card is for my boss who is turning 50! He really likes the New England Patriots but his favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Their colors are black and gold so I saw on pinterest a lot of different football players using punch art so I gave it a whirl.  He is a cutie with a black uniform and gold sneakers and gold on his helmet and jersey.  A lot of punches were used to include the circle, tag, oval, butterfly and heart punches.  All of them were SU punches.   I used the same die from Die-namics for the grass that I did for the first card.  The sentiment inside that is not shown says, "Congratulations and best wishes on your 50th birthday, an event worthy of celebration and reflection on five decades of life, love and laughter with plenty more yet to come.

50 Years!
I haven't made an easel card in a while and had forgotten how much I like making them.  For now I am finished making birthday cards and I can now starting focusing on my Christmas cards.  Can't wait to start on them now!  Thanks for stopping by!

Camera for a birthday!

This has been a card I have wanted to make for a while with my Envelope Punch Board.  My sister-in-law's birthday is this coming week and she loves taking pictures especially when her kids were young.  I saw this card here and just used punches and circle nestabilities to copy it.  I put a strap on the camera with 3/16 inch eyelets so that the card would open and close.  Also had to add some bling to the card with a red pearl and a little crystal.  Would be a great card for a photographer!!

I had to add a picture, of course, to the card.  This is my sister-in-law, Charlotte, back in December of 1985 at my Mom & Dad's house for Christmas.  She is sitting on Santa's lap with her daughter, Jill.  Santa is my brother and her husband, Hal.  On the right hand side of the card is the sentiment but at the top it says, It's your day!  So Happy Birthday Charlotte!!

I wanted to make another one with some color instead of just black, white and silver.  A lot of cameras have the lens right in the middle so here is my take on this type of camera.  Check out this card I saw on pinterest here.

Ninja Turtle Birthday

Happy Birthday to my son, Eric!  His birthday is next week and I hope it will get a kick out of this card when he gets it!!  He loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles growing up and when I saw a card on pinterest with them on it,  I had to make one for Eric.  Instead, I made a "card in a box" card because I don't think I have made one for him yet.  The punches are all from SU.  The head is circle and the large oval punch.  The wrap on their eyes is the tab punch and the small banner punch.   On one side is pizza punch art and the other side is crossed swords.  This type of card worked out perfectly because it looks like the turtles are coming out of the sewer hole.  Behind the turtles is the manhole cover with the initials TMNT!!  Check out some pictures below!  This was a fun card to make!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Closer look at the Turtles and manhole cover!
They loved pizza!
Can't fight without your swords!

Beach Box

July is another birthday month!!  This card is for a good friend of mine from high school and college.  Her birthday is on the 23rd and she and some friends from high school always rent a beach house in Old Orchard Beach, Maine---right on the beach.  They are so generous always inviting friends and family members to join them.  This was my 3rd year spending time with them on the beach and they had a BEAUTIFUL week!!

I chose to make this card in the box because Vicki saw it on pinterest and thought it was a kit!  I told her no, that people make their own, custom made cards.  For Vicki, I used a lot of sizzix dies,  SU punches and the beach chair with the hat is actually a stamp from Great Impressions that I colored with copics and cut out.  The paper is from Authenique which was perfect with shells all over it.  The back of the card for the sentiment is graphic 45 paper! Back to my craftroom to make some more July birthday cards!    Check out some more closeups below----    Happy Birthday Vicki!!!

Background stamp-beach chair, hat and sandals!
Love the sentiment-so perfect!

Retiring Leo

This time of year is not only weddings and graduations but also retirement parties!  A very good music teacher at my husband's school is retiring after 30 years at Waterboro Elementary School.  He was there 1 year before my husband started at the school. My husband, Mark, has also decided to retire this year as it has been a hard year with budget cuts and having 37 years in education, it was time for new blood.

Leo's party was last night and it was a lot of fun!  I saw this card in the box on pinterest.  I have made a lot of the standard size ones but this one is longer.  The measurement for cutting is 11 1/2 x 4 1/8 inches and then score on the long side at 3 7/8, 5 1/2, 9 3/8 and 11 inches, then turn to the short side and score at 2 1/8. This link will tell you the rest of the measurements for the inserts.  The design of the card I also saw on pinterest and wanted to make it a piano since it would be so perfect for Leo. He plays many instruments and also gives piano lessons to children.

Mark helped me with the sentiment on the back which also was perfect because Leo is going to start his piano tuning business in his retirement years.  We wish the best for Leo and his family in his retirement. He certainly deserves it. Some pictures from the party below......

Minnie's Mother's Day!

Stampin up's new tag punch called Scallop Tag Topper Punch was used for My Mom's card this year.  I love this new punch is so versatile. My mother has a collection of Minnies so I decided to make her a card with Minnie and Mickey!! I saw this card on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try.  Click HERE for the video on how this card was done. Just a little measuring and then just decorate!

The inside gives you plenty of space for the sentiment and more decorating.  I had some ribbon with Minnie's ears and bow left over from some scrapbooking it did last year so used it for the tie.  The dies for Mickey and Minnieare from ProvoCraft.

I made a couple more of these Tag Topper cards but haven't finished decorating them.  May is a busy card month with birthdays and next weekend we have a bridal shower in the family so many ways to use these cards. Thanks for looking!!
