Gretel Christmas Thankyou!

Another card in the box for a Christmas/thankyou card!  Our neighbors have been so good about caring for our dog, Gretel and wanted to make them a special card!  Christmas tree for the background with presents behind the punch art big dog!!  The punch art dog was a combination of punch art dogs I saw on pinterest.  I used the heart punch for the snout, oval punch for the tongue, paws and ears. The head is the ornament punch and of course, small heart punch for the nose.  It is a simple little dog but so very cute!

This is a better picture to show the presents under the tree but behind the pup!  The paper I used was from Authenique and, I think, Bo Bunny.  I have a holly punch from MS and used that on the flaps with "very merry" sentiment.

I have not gotten tired of making these box cards!  Just love making them!  Peppermint and candy cane stickers are from Michael's.  Thanks for looking and Happy 2015 to everyone!!

Glitter Flowers for Mom

Today is my mother's 85th birthday!!  I used Elizabeth Craft's glitter/sticker technique for her card!  She absolutely loves flowers so this is perfect!  I used my new Circle Flip-it die from Sizzix. The flowers were colored with copic markers and added the sentiments with nestabilities circle and scallop circles. 

I added a flap so that you could open up the card to see the sentiment. Found the sentiment on the internet which is perfect and I love that it rhymes.  The dies are from Memory box and Dee's Distinctive.  I didn't take a picture of the back but another love of my mother's is shoes and I had a die of a high-heel which is from Marianne's Creatables.  The high-heel is a recent purchase from ebay. 

The paper I used is from SU.  I can't remember the name but it is beautiful.  I have used this design paper on a number of projects.  It is so pretty and spring-like.  Headed to dinner with mom and siblings to celebrate her birthday.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Big Birthday!

My husband's birthday is Monday, Jan 20th and he will turn 60. It is a biggie so I wanted to make a card showing something that he loves to do which is soccer. He played in high school, college and coached summer leagues, high school, and premier leagues.  Soccer has been a big part of our lives with him coaching both our son and daughter.  Love the card in the box card so how cute is it to make it into a soccer design.  The shirt is orgami and the other embellments are from Michael's (just stickers).  Can't remember the line of stickers but the Happy Birthday sentiment is from sizzix.  The sides of the box are embossed with Stampin up's octagon folder.  Looks like soccer balls! More Christmas Cards in a box!

I made the singing mice and now I thought I would try making the singing reindeer.  This card is for my son and his girlfriend. There are 3 of them with the sizzix Christmas tree in the background all decorated! 

Also made the card in the box with angels.  I made a couple of these cards for some girlfriends. The angels are on pinterest and I think they are on splitcoast too.  I used SU build a blossom punch, bow die from Dee's distinctively, a couple of circle punches and then for the wings I used velum and used memory box's butterfly die. 

Lastly, this is a birthday card for my boss.  His birthday was on the 18th.  I have made these cards a long time ago for other employers but I hadn't made on for Dr. Donnelly.  The stethoscope is actually a brad, so cute, from eyelet outlet.

Birthday Tags

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Happy Birthday Lindsey!

I decided to make birthday tags for my son's girlfriend, Lauren and for my daughter, Lindsey.  I used the same Julie Nutting's doll stamp for them. There is more bling on Lauren's tag and more embellishments on Lindsey's tag.  I used Bo Bunny paper, nestabilities, Dee's Distinctively, MS punch, sizzix, copic markers and SU punches.  It is hard to see but I made a chunky charm on Lauren's tag.  This was a fun way to end the summer creating to cards for 2 very lovely girls! Happy Birthday Lauren and Lindsey!!!

20th Anniversary

Today is my sister's 20th Wedding Anniversary!  I can't believe it has been 20 years!  We are headed to Longhorn Steakhouse to celebrate with Chris and Tom!!  Happy Anniversary to such a wonderful couple!!

I made a fun fold card with memory box's butterfly, Tim Holtz clock die and Dee's Distinctively leaves. The paper is Graphic 45 and the flower is from Prima. I added some pink pearls and a "Little Whimsies" blue heart. Check out the inside below-

Sizzix, MS corner punch and SU punch to finish the inside of the card.  Happy to report that I used my new Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers for the envelope.  So easy to use, I just love it!!!

Adoption Cards x 2

Captain Alan

Adoption Day Cards were fun to make this year.  I did punch art for both of them.  This one is for an 8-year old, blind boy so I added a lot of textures and die cuts.  The eye patch, mustache, earrings and left eye are all textured so that Alan could feel them.  I saw this pirate card on pinterest and had to make it for him because he is very much into pirates now.  I have made a lot of faces with the Top Note die from SU and it is always fun to do.  The kerchief with the next to largest circle nestabilities and the tail of the kerchief is done with spellbinders tags.  The teeth are from the word window punch from SU and the mustache is one of the largest heart nestabilities. The nose is the tag punch from SU. Check out the inside.....

The sentiment reads, "Celebrating with joy the wonderful treasure that you are!  Happy Adoption Day!".
I made the palm tree with a die cut from Dee's Distinctive which I have used a lot and the base of the palm is free hand with cuttlebug embossing folder.  The treasure chest and pirate boat are stickers.

Chief Aaron

 The second card I made I really have to thank my sister Chris for the idea.  Check out her card here. She made a car and when I was told that Aaron really like firetrucks I thought I would try one. Aaron is 4 years old and I thought he would get a kick out this firetruck.  This is a trifold card with the Top Note die again for the front of the truck and the back of the truck I made to fit the inside section of the card.  The ladder was done free hand but afterwards I realized I could have used sizzix's fence die. The hose was done free hand and the nozzle is just the small slot punch from SU.  The hydrant  is done with a rectangle, large oval punch, the word window, and circle punches. The helmet (in the front seat) is large and small oval punches.

I also wanted to share with you (again I have to thank Chris for this idea) my new magnetic board in my craftroom. I am putting the dies that I use a lot so that they are easier to grab on the frame.  The frame, which I love, I got at "Just the Thing" in Dover NH and added the magnetic sheets from Joann's to hold dies. Love, love, love this idea.  I may have to do a whole wall of different frames to hold on my dies because I do have quite a few but for now it will have to be the ones a use a lot.  Thanks again, Chris!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Today is a special day for all  mothers. I wanted to wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day.  This is a picture of my mother at her 50th Wedding Anniversary Party that all her children gave my Dad and her in1998.  My Mom and Dad had 8 children and were very, very busy as you can imagine.  She is a very special lady!  Love you Mom!

We are celebrating with her today at a luncheon today.  She is a self taught pianist so I thought the card I made for her is appropriate. 

I saw this on pinterest and immediately thought of my mom.  I used Stampin up products such as the tab and label punch, as well as the Top Note die and sentiment.  The fern punch is a Martha Stewart punch and the leaf vine is from Dee's Distinctively (which is my new favorite leaf die).  The flowers are from Prima.

Birthday Pocket Card

After a wonderful vacation last week and now back to work, I needed to make a card for my coworker's birthday. Her last day is today so it doubled as a birthday and going to miss you card.  I saw one of these on pinterest and I think my sisters made made them too.  Tags are a lot of fun to make!  The tutorial for this is on splitcoaststampers under Tutorial and search for Diagonal Double Pocket card. Finally with some nice warm weather in the northeast, I made  this a spring card with flowers, butterflies and birds!

Happy Birthday Marcine and Good Luck with your new adventure of moving to Florida!  It was a pleasure to work with you and I will miss you smiling face each day!

Hearts, Hearts and More Hearts

I remember when I was in elementary school we would use white doilies to make Valentine's Day cards and this card reminds me of it.  The white paper doily just screams Valentine's Day to me!! I love this paper from cratepaper.  It is such a pretty background paper.  The layers of hearts are spellbinders and the lacey heart is from Cheery Lynn Designs, so pretty!!  It is hard to see but I sponged the banner from Spellbinders with the pink Distress Ink from Ranger/Tim Holtz.

This card is really a trifold and the second page has more hearts from Spellbinders and a glittered, sticker, red heart that I had.  SU sentiment "love you much" added. Below is a picture of the third page or inside of the card which has the sentiment and, of course, more hearts with a large green leaf die from Dee's Distinctively.  Dee's Distinctively is a new line for me which I love!!

I made 2 of these cards which I am sending to my son and his girlfriend  and the other one is for my daughter. I had so much fun making these during the Blizzard that we had over the weekend here in the Northeast.  Maybe Blizzards aren't so bad because it keeps me in my craftroom creating!!  Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!
