Anniversary, Birthday & Retirement
This gatefold card is an Anniversary card with Heartfelt Creations dies. I used some stickers that I had in my stash from Michael's for the embellishments. My sister and her husband are celebrating their 6th year Anniversary today! Happy Anniversary to those two love birds!
My brother-in-law's birthday is this month and I thought I would use my Graphic 45 collection-Come away with me! He is getting close to retiring so travel should be in his future. Love making the Building Block style cards. WISH BIG! is the sentiment for Cary! Happy Birthday Cary!
This is a M Fold card. It was a fun style card to make and it was perfect for our good friend, Brian. He retired last week and now is working 3 days a week for his son at a marijuana growing facility. I didn't have any marijuana stamps so I printed it off the internet! Stampin Up had the perfect paper for the background. I love the saying on it that says "Your career has gone to pot"! So happy in his retirement he gets to work with his son and daughter-in-law!
We had a fun day last week going to the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Maine to see the trolls. They did give you a map but you had to find them on your own, no signs on the trail for them. The flowers that were in bloom were gorgeous! Be prepared to do some walking and some of the trails were steep but there were shuttles for people. My husband and I even saw people in wheelchairs! The trails are wide so it did accomodate them but for the people pushing them it was a workout! It was a gorgeous day and I was glad we got to go!

Heartfelt Anniversary!
Love Heartfelt Creations cards and this die is from them. They make such beautiful cards! I made this card for my sister and her husband's 12th Anniversary which was yesterday! This die makes such a lovely gatefold card! The sentiment on the front is something I had in my stash and the vine is a die from Memory Box.
The inside of the card I used dies from Stampin up with a glitter background--so pretty! Love this bundle from Stampin up called Special Reason.

Punch art Asters
It has been hard to work in my craftroom since my family has gotten back from California. It has been hot and I don't have air conditioning in my room. I do have a fan which helps but some days it just isn't enough. But we have had some cooler days and since we are heading into fall, I will be making more cards because September is another big birthday month in our family. From the book Paper Bouquet by Susan Tierney Cockburn I have made the Asters which are fun. Same technique as the Echinacea (which was on a previous blog post) which is cupping the individual flower and layering them together. The bird is from Heartfelt Creations/Spellbinders colored with copic markers. For the background it is the cuttlebug embossed folder and then I used Tim Holtz distressed inks peeled paint to color the Sizzix Top Note image. Thanks for looking and enjoy!

Red Cardinals
Since I got back from the CKC Convention in Manchester, NH, I have wanted to use my new Heartfelt Creations Cardinals. I bought the stamp and the coordinating Spellbinders dies. I used my copic markers to color them and perched them on sizzix " little leaves" die. The flowers are Stampin up Boho Blossoms punch with a little pearl for the center. This was all set on sizzix Top Note die. The sentiment is Just Rite cling stamp, "You mean the World to me". This was a very simple and quick card to make for just about any occasion. Love making these types of cards to have on hand. Thank you for hanging out with me!
