Fabric Folding

I found this video on Pinterest on making these Christmas ornaments and my sisters and I just love making them.  You really get better at it the more you do and having a 5/8 inch marker helps too! After we made these, we started making pine cones and I have started a Christmas tree and I know my sister has made an angel which are so adorable! There is also a tutorial on making a wreath too! The one thing that is different besides the positioning of the folded fabric for each of the projects, you don't have to iron the Christmas ornaments but ironing for the pine cones and Christmas tree is really important if you want a good point with the fabric.  Here is the tutorial for the ornaments if you are interested in giving them a try.  I feel like Jennifer and I are good friends because I have listened to her tutorial for the pine cones and the Christmas wreath.  She does a great job showing the techniques.   Check out the website below/youtube for her tutorial!

It has been a busy summer planning a bridal shower for my niece who is getting married in France and also having my brother and sisters here from Florida, Massachusetts and New Jersey.  We all were together for the bridal shower which was so special.  I'll show pictures of the shower on my next post because there are quite a few with a Paris theme.

Also this past week, my son and his girlfriend, Sabrina were here from California.  So happy to see them and happy to meet Sabrina.  She is a doll!  Eric never lets me take pictures of him (just like his mom) but he relented.  It was a great week and the weather was perfect!!  Miss them already!

Happy couple

Baby's Bib

Love this cute baby card that I saw on pinterest. It is punch art and it was a quick one!  The inside says "snips and snails and puppy dog tails....."  I went to a baby shower this past weekend and, of course, I waited to the last minute to make a card.  I am loving that mom's-to-be now (mostly) are wanting to know what they are having so it is great to be able to pick the colors.  Emily will be a great mother and she looks wonderful!!

Emily had a cute and adorable helper!!  She was so excited to see all the gifts that Emily opened!  I really enjoyed her reaction to every gift!

Here is the gift that I actually made for the baby!  I knitted a blue baby blanket.  Thank you Cindy Esty for getting me back into knitting.  I made a sweater for my son when he was a baby and it took me years to finish. Obviously, he has never worn it.  I am saving it for his son!!  It was a fun weekend with the baby shower and also Friday my sister, her husband, my husband and I went to Canobie Lake Park and enjoyed fun in the sun on some scary rides and then not so scary rides.  I have never been and I would recommend it.  Lovely setting on beautiful Canobie Lake!  Thanks Connie and Russ for taking us!  Check out some fun below!!

This ride was unbelievable!

Day Trip

Today in Maine was so  hot and steamy that my husband and I decided to head downeast for a breeze somewhere!!  We went to Five Islands for their yummy lobster rolls and a beautiful view.  We took our dog,
Gretel, who enjoyed a little ice cream on the trip.  The temperature read from our car 83 at Five Islands which was a lot better than the 95 it read when we got home in Falmouth.

We met some people from Salt Lake City and Los Angeles who are here for the month of July.  They love it here in Maine and I think they told me that they have been coming to Maine for 3 years now.  Gretel was a big hit with them because they missed their 2 dogs which are home.  On the way back home, we stopped at Reid State Park.  I have never been to Reid State Park and wanted to just drive around and see the park before it closed. It is a beautiful park and will have to come back another day to spend the day there. Check out the pictures below of the park.

Let's picnic!
When we were going thru Yarmouth and Cumberland, we were behind this guy on his bike.  I think he was headed for the parade in Yarmouth. The Yarmouth Clam Festival starts tonight with a big parade and he was going to participate I'm sure.  It is going to be another hot one tomorrow--So keep cool!!
