September is here!

I wanted to showcase blackeyed susan flowers for this birthday box card. I haven't made one of these in a long time and thought I would do it for my friend's birthday. In the middle of the card, I used a plastic "happy birthday" sign that was on a cupcake that was given to me for my birthday. It is great to re-use something that works for cards or other projects. Here are a couple more pictures of this card.
My Blackeyed Susans are lasting so long. They started blooming the first week in August and are still going strong! They are beautiful!

Cards & A Fun Project!

My first card for the new year. My niece had her first baby at the beginning of January, a Baby Boy! Here is an accordian screen card with pictures for her Welcome Baby card! The paper collection is from Echo Park. He is so adorable!
Today is a good friend from high school's birthday! This is my first Double Panel Step card. This card opens like a vertically. Love how it folds up and mails easily in an envelope. I used the Fairie Wings paper collection from Graphic 45 for the card. Happy Birthday Betti! I put the sentiment on the back where there is plenty of room for it. Here is the tutorial for it.
Here is the second Double panel step birthday card that I made which is for a student of my husband's who happens to have her birthday on the same day as my husband and she has given him a birthday every year since she has been at the elementary school that Mark worked. She is such a sweetheart and now she has a family of her own. This card opens like a book style. The tradition continues...
Lastly just wanted to show a project that I made for my bay window. It has been a crazy January in the Northeast with warming temperatures and terrible destruction on the coast and now it is cold, cold cold! We just had 4 inches of snow. I am happy that we had snow instead of rain! This is making me think of spring and summer! A floral beachy arrangment to make you think spring and summer! Thanks for checking in!!

Beachy Birthday

Friends of mine from my high school graduating class are all turning 60 this year!  So I have been busy making 60 birthday cards for them.  4 of them rent a beach house in Old Orchard Beach every year and another 4 of us always make a point of spending at least a couple of days with them.  We look forward to their "beach week".  They usually have pretty good weather so we are hoping the same for this summer!!!  The cards that I have made so far have been beachy themes.  This one, of course, are sandals which I had a template for them. So this was just fussy cutting them.  Just added a couple of flowers and some bling.  I thought it was adorable!!  Happy 60th Birthday Julia!!

Summer Fun!

Dew Drop Inn
Summer Fun at Pequawket Lake again this summer!!  My friend, Cindy and her husband, have a beautiful camp on the lake which we went to this past weekend. We had so much fun in the lake, on the lake,  and beside the lake. Cindy's grandson was up and he was a little doll!  I think he would be happier as a fish! The lake was a busier than I have seen in years past, I think, because it was the 4th of July weekend and everyone was enjoying the beautiful weather we had last week!

Preparing to snorkel!
Aaron the fish!
Cindy is a great cook!  Check out the food display--especially the ribs!  The meat just fell off the ribs! Sooooo Good!!!  Great company and great food!  Another fun year with the Esty's!! Thanks again!

She smoked them!

Wells, Maine

My husband and I  took a little road trip today to pick up some summer furniture at Lowery's in Berwick and then down to York to a friend's campground called Dixon's Campground.  Great place if you want to do some camping, right on Route 1 in York.  My husband, Mark, wants to do some kayaking this summer and his friend, Mike, does kayak excursions.  We ended up at Mike's Clam Shack for lunch in Wells on Route 1.  We haven't been on Route 1 in Wells/Ogunquit/York for many years especially this time of year because of the traffic!!!
I love scallops
But today, it wasn't too bad. The food at Mike's was great, scallops, clams, shrimp, lobster!  You name it, they had it!!  There are so many places to choose but  this was recommended by Mike and Roberta. Excellent recommendation!

Mark and I stopped to take a picture of the Sea Mist Resort Hotel.  We have a timeshare here but we have never actually stayed here.  We always trade it for another place. We have stayed in Florida, California, Virginia and this summer we are going  back to California to visit my son.  Although, the Sea Mist is a nice place to stay and it is not far from Wells Beach.  Even though the weather wasn't the best today, people in the area were making the best of it. Tomorrow, I hear will be better for all those tourists!

A Day at the Lake

Peaceful
Shamus,  All Aboard!
Gretel looking for shells?
Gretel and I had a great day at Pequawket Lake today.  My good friend, Cindy, has a camp there and it is a beautiful spot. The lake today was so calm.  We saw a loon in the lake bathing.  Cindy says that she sees the same 2 loons very year usually early in the morning or later in the afternoon.  I think she should name them at this point since they come and visit each year.  Today Gretel and Shamus also spent the day together.  They became great friends as you can see from the pictures. The lake was a little chilly to go in but in another week I am sure it will be just the right temp.  Thanks Cindy for a great day and Gretel wants to thank Shamus for "playing" today!!!  Check out some more pictures below!
