Happy Graduation Day!

Love these owls for my graduation card!  I have seen these cute owls on SC for graduation cards and couldn't resist the temptation to use them for my card.  Today was a party for Emily who is graduating tomorrow from Catherine McAuley High School.  She was only about 7 or 8 when she would come to her sister's games and my husband would coach her sister and my daughter's team.  I can't believe how time flies!!  Now is she is a beautiful 18  year old and off to college next year!

I used the SU scallop punch for the wings and the curly label for the bottom part of the graduation hat.  I free hand the top part of the graduation hat.  I know you can use the penant punch from SU but I didn't have it. The DP is from SU and I am sorry but I can't remember the name of it.  The banner is from Spellbinders and the sentiment is SU "congrats".  Always have fun using the owl punch from SU! Thanks for looking!

Warmest Holiday Wishes

Last year I was going to try and make one Christmas card a week.  Well, I fell short of that but decided I would try and make the same commitment this year.  So here goes my first card for this year. The background Poinsetta paper is from My Mind's Eye.  The big red bow is from a box of candy that my husband and I got from a friend last Christmas.  I thought it was so pretty I couldn't throw it away so I recycled it on a card!!!  The sentiment is from SU Christmas Cardinal with nestabilities.  The punch art poinsetta is from Spellbinders Bauble Blossoms One and I used by Fanciful Flourishes from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The leaves on the poinsetta are from the SU blossoms punch.  I embossed the sentiment with gold and added a large pearl in the center of the flower.

Now that I have started my Christmas cards, let's see if I can keep it going!  I know it is going to be hard since the weather is beautiful and summer is just around the corner!  I love summer in Maine!!!  Enjoy!

Flowers are in Bloom!

Breast awareness
My husband and I went for ice cream last week and these beautiful tulips were in bloom beside our favorite Dairy Joy called "Libs".  It was for breast cancer awareness.  They were so beautiful I had to jump out and take a picture.  Today, my sister, her husband and my mom headed to "The Garden Spot" and bought some gorgeous annuals.  My sister, Connie and her husband Russ have put a lot of work into a garden this year and they also got some vegetable seedlings to plant.  Check out the back end of the van!

Geraniums, spirea, coleus, petunias and more!
We all have a lot of planting to do in the next few days. This is the second trip to a garden shop this spring for me.  I just finished this graduated clay pots that I saw on pinterest. The plants are cascading pink petunias.  So pretty!

Love pinterest!
My mom's birthday is this Sunday and 10 or 11 of us are taking her out to lunch.  She loves flowers and since the liliacs are in bloom which is early this year (for Maine) I decided to make her a card with liliacs.
I saw cheeriolafs card on Splitcoast which happens to be the same color that Connie has in her yard all in bloom. It is hard to see but I used CB embossing folder with stems and leaves for the background of the card. Boho blossoms punch from SU for the liliac flowers with tiny little pearls. The leaves and stem were from SU bird and build a blossom punch.  The butterflies are MS punches.  Cheeriolafs suggested drawing a tear shape and then fill in with the flowers.  Happy Birthday Mom!!  Love you!

Beautiful Liliacs

Purple Flourishes

Fanciful Flourish is my favorite die that I have purchase in the past 5 or 6 months.  I use it a lot and just love it! I saw this card from saintsrule and had to try it.  I changed the colors of the flowers but essentially it is the same. To get the frame, I used 5x5 white cardstock with Martha Stewart trellis corner and border punches.  The flowers are from Joann's and nestabilities for the sentiment.  The sentiment stamp is from SU Whimsical Words.  It is hard to see but I did score for the background of the white cardstock.  It is a beautiful card. Thank you Saintsrule.  You make the most beautiful cards!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I just read that this Sizzix daisy die is retiring from Stampin up. I love this die so I thought I would use it for my Mother's day card.  It makes a lovely gerber daisy.  You can't see it very well but I used pearls for the inside of the daisy and 3 small ones on the lavendar ribbon to the right.  Martha Stewart border punch to make the strip and nestabilities for the sentiment. Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers!!!

Baby Wilson!

I made this baby card quite a while ago and I thought it would be appropriate for a little baby boy. My mom needed a card for Polly's little guy, Wilson. My sister, Adrianne's best friend Polly just had her first baby.  She named her baby boy, Wilson.  Adrianne was telling me that it is a family name and Polly always said if she had a boy, Wilson would be the name.

This punch art card is from Stampin up punches.  The small oval punch is used for the legs and head and also the ears, but cut in half.  The body is the scallop punch.  I used the white gel pen for the eyes.  Sizzix die for the fence and 1 3/8 round circle punch for the sun.  Stampin up sentiment "welcome" is from warm words stamp set.  Love this cute little baby lamb! Thanks for stopping by!

First Day of Spring

Hidden Crocuses
Today is the first day of spring and there is no snow in sight. It is such a beautiful and gorgeous day here in the Northeast.  The temperature today is 72 degrees and it is expected to reach 80 by Thursday.  I was at my sister's house earlier in the week and we found some very pretty crocuses peeking through some ornamental grass.  They are such a pretty violet color.  I have found some hostas starting to come up and some lilacs that are starting to bud.  It is so early for spring here - we are all dumbfounded that it can be some beautiful so early in the season.  And yes, we are thankful.

Certainly spring!
Another one of my sisters was here visiting this weekend and she brought me this gorgeous bouquet. I am recovering from some surgery and she brought this spring bouquet to brighten my day which she did.  Thanks Adrianne! Perfect spring bouquet!!!
