Birthday Suit

I have made the shirt cards before but I thought this was a cute twist on the shirt cards.  It is almost like a criss-cross card when you pull out the sentiment from the top.  I saw this type of card on pinterest. Check out the video for the instructions which she does a great job showing but I didn't have the thinlet from Stampin up so I made my own base.   I cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and then scored on the long size at 2 1/4 and 6 1/4.  Just glue the bottom edge and left side, only about 1/2 way up.  Fold down your lapels and had a bow and buttons.  The inside tag is measured at 3 1/2 by 5. The base of the card is mounted on cardstock to give it a little more stability.

My brother's birthday is coming up at the end of this week so I thought this would be cute to spell out his name on his shirt.  Happy Birthday Hal!

Just add your sentiment inside the shirt.  Love it type of card! Can't wait to try this for a baby card! Thanks for stopping by!

Summer 60th!

Another beachcomber turning 60!  Mary is my bestie!!  She turns 60 before me!!  Her birthday is next week and she lives in Narragansett, Rhode Island so I am getting this in the mail today or tomorrow.  Narragansett is known for it's beaches and sailing.  Again the perfect paper to use is Graphic 45 - By the Sea!  The box card is the elongated version so could get more sailboat boats in it. A total of 4, hard to see the 4th.  She loves the sun so had to add the bright sun as the focal point.  Happy 60th Birthday Mary!! Your the best!  Check out more pictures below.

By the Sea 60th Birthday!

Another 60th birthday card for a high school classmate!  She  is a beachcomber so I thought I would use Graphic 45's By the Sea.  Love this collection!  I also saw this "pop up" card on pinterest and wanted to try it.  Here is the tutorial for it.  It is pretty easy and closes up to put in a regular envelope which is always good.  Check out my pics below for more views.  Thanks for stopping by.

San Francisco Fun

This is the first picture I took on our visit to San Francisco.  We picked up our son, Eric, and then went to lunch in Marin County.  It was great to see him!  The weather was never an issue because it was beautiful the whole time, not a raindrop was felt.  We were busy the whole time checking out Eric's place of work, sightseeing, and wine tasting!  So much to do and so little time to do it all.  I loved that San Francisco has some of the best places to eat!!  We had Vietnamese, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Cajun and burgers!!  Of course, we had sourdough sandwiches which were terrific.   I can see why Eric misses lobsters - didn't find much seafood other than Bubba Gump Shrimp! Haha!
Fisherman's Wharf
We stayed right in the city so we were able to do some walking but mostly took the car because we wanted to be able to go to Marin County, Sonoma, the Muir Woods and Sausalito.  We were able to walk to Fisherman's Wharf and Ghiradelli Square.  We were in San Francisco in the Summer of 2011 but we stayed in San Jose which was fun but staying right in the city was a treat to be so close to where Eric lives and being near everything.  Check out beautiful pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge with and without fog, Alcatraz, Sausalito, Tiburon, and Lombard Street.  We were not able to get to the Muir Woods this time because the Park was so packed!  We tried twice but didn't want to do the road again.  It was like a scary ride in an amusement park, very winding and the drop off was unbelievable!!  I took a lot of pictures so I just picked a few pictures to highlight the fun we had.  The best was seeing our son! Hoping some day he misses Maine and will at least come back to the East Coast but I definitely see why he loves it on the West Coast.  Enjoy the pics!

Glittery Birthdays

My husband and I are headed to the West Coast in a few days to visit my son, Eric in San Francisco so I wanted to post a couple of cards that I have been working on for some birthdays that are coming up this summer.  Still making Elizabeth Craft's sticker/glitter cards which are so beautiful!  Graphic 45 was used for the paper on both of these cards.  Secret Garden was used above and Botanical Tea collection below.  You can't go wrong with either collection!  To color the glitter rose stickers from Elizabeth Craft, I used copic markers.  Purple roses and Pink roses are sooo pretty!!

I had to add the little bumble bee!  So cute!  The side was a border die from Sizzix.   Just have to add the sentiments to both cards and all set to send!  California here we come!!  I left my heart in San Francisco!  and to quote my sister who just got married (see previous post), I am so "Stinkin Excited"!

WooHoo!

Our baby sister got married yesterday!  It was such a beautiful weekend with laughter, happiness and some tears! We are so happy for her and her new husband, Lenny!  Our dad passed away almost 5 years ago now so our brother, Hal gave Adrianne away and Lenny, in all his thoughtfulness. gave her a little locket to put in her bouquet!  We know Dad was with us in spirit!  How wonderful is that!
So perfect!!
Congratulations to the happy couple, Mr & Mrs Denenberg!  God Bless you both!  Just a few pictures of the wedding below and then a pictures of my card for the happy couple!

Birthday for Manya!

Just a quick post on a card I made for my co-worker's daughter!  She loves the cards I make for her mom so I thought I would make a card for her!  Manya loves her little chihuahua, Sweetie!! Here is my take on Manya's sweet little "Sweetie"!!

I used punches from SU.  Modern label punch for the front legs, tab punch for the hind legs, oval and round punches for the head and I used 5 petal punch for the inside of the years and the small oval for the outside of the ears.  The hair between his ears is actually the grass die from Die-namics which you can see in this picture too!  The design paper is from SU.  I wish I had sponged his head and ears with dark brown but I was in a hurry because I just found out it was her birthday.  Oh well!

The card is a stair step card and I used Petaloo flowers to decorate with MS butterfly punch.  It is hard to see but on the stair step is a small gift made with MS bow punch and a little red pearl for a little bling.  The balloons are from Martha Stewart too.

Picture of the card all done!  Hope she gets a kick out of her card! Happy Birthday Manya!!

Wanted to share this picture of my ground phlox!  It has grown so over the past few years.  Pretty soon it will be up to my little bunny!  This is a sure sign that summer is just around the corner when the phlox is in bloom.

Memorial Day was early this year. It seems to surprise us so I am considering this Memorial Week! Thank you for all the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country! Bless the USA!
