My Birthday Month!
I have a birthday coming up! Here is my first birthday card from a dear dear friend. This is such a beautiful card and looks just like me (ha) that I had to share it on my blog. She loves her cricut and I love mine too but I'm still learning - she is a pro! Thank you Cindy!
Here is a card in a box card that I made for two guys that love the sport of Golf! And their birthdays are this month too! I did use my cricut machine for the golf cart but the other embellishments are stamps from Stampin up. Love the way these came out! Happy Birthday Brian & Tom! Wanted to show the back of card because I love the sentiment that I used (found on Pinterest).
Other Birthday card I made with cricut-the beer mug! I embellished with silver paper for the bubbles and foam but the inside was fun to do too! Love all the sayings that I found on Pinterest. Such a fun fun card to make to a guy who likes his beer! August is a busy birthday month. I'm headed back to the craftroom to make more birthday cards! Thanks for stopping by!

August Birthdays

This is a quick post which will be mostly pictures. This was a fun card to make. A record player is a thing of the past but vinyl is making a big comeback. Love the sentiments that go with this card. I made them for a couple of great guys birthdays. I also love using my music dies!

Nativity Scene
Papertrey Ink has these cute little villages. They are so cute and little. My sister, Chris, introduced my other sister and I to them. I love them. I have had to practice on a few of them which have ended up in the trash but finally got the hang of it. They are so small and such a great gift for Christmas. I have been playing with the Nativity stamps and dies making cards and these cute little globes on mason jars. I have made 3 of them and some cards. I also made an ornament for our tree. I am going to put the year on it so I know when it was made to put on our tree! I just ordered the Holiday Lane and can't wait to make this one! What a great gift and what fun to create! Never to early to start on your Christmas gifts!! Thank you for stopping by!!

Valentine Baskets!
A couple of fun baskets to make for Valentine's Day! I made one for my husband and one for my daughter. My sister, Chris, showed me a picture of a fry box basket which I made in a previous post, and then added fry boxes on each end of that but first you need to turn the middle fry boxes around so that the front of the boxes were glued together. Hope that makes sense to you. Then just decorate the boxes and I also decorated the handles. I used a lot of Stampin up, Spellbinders, Memory box, and MS punch products to decorate the baskets. These would be so cute for Easter! A couple of pictures below showing the back of the baskets and handles. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Beach Box
July is another birthday month!! This card is for a good friend of mine from high school and college. Her birthday is on the 23rd and she and some friends from high school always rent a beach house in Old Orchard Beach, Maine---right on the beach. They are so generous always inviting friends and family members to join them. This was my 3rd year spending time with them on the beach and they had a BEAUTIFUL week!!
I chose to make this card in the box because Vicki saw it on pinterest and thought it was a kit! I told her no, that people make their own, custom made cards. For Vicki, I used a lot of sizzix dies, SU punches and the beach chair with the hat is actually a stamp from Great Impressions that I colored with copics and cut out. The paper is from Authenique which was perfect with shells all over it. The back of the card for the sentiment is graphic 45 paper! Back to my craftroom to make some more July birthday cards! Check out some more closeups below---- Happy Birthday Vicki!!!

Wedding Cards
Here are a couple of Wedding cards that I made for Kristin and Nathaniel's wedding gifts. One is from Mark and I and the other one is from Eric and Lindsey. It is made from a lunch size paper bag. I love it because the bottom of the bag makes a slot/pocket for your check or gift card. I have made a few of these before for gifts. Check out pictures below for the inside of the card.
So easy to just slide your gift card or check into the pocket on the right. The same on the inside of the card below. Love decorating these cards for weddings. Thanks for looking!!!

Retiring Leo
This time of year is not only weddings and graduations but also retirement parties! A very good music teacher at my husband's school is retiring after 30 years at Waterboro Elementary School. He was there 1 year before my husband started at the school. My husband, Mark, has also decided to retire this year as it has been a hard year with budget cuts and having 37 years in education, it was time for new blood.
Leo's party was last night and it was a lot of fun! I saw this card in the box on pinterest. I have made a lot of the standard size ones but this one is longer. The measurement for cutting is 11 1/2 x 4 1/8 inches and then score on the long side at 3 7/8, 5 1/2, 9 3/8 and 11 inches, then turn to the short side and score at 2 1/8. This link will tell you the rest of the measurements for the inserts. The design of the card I also saw on pinterest and wanted to make it a piano since it would be so perfect for Leo. He plays many instruments and also gives piano lessons to children.
Mark helped me with the sentiment on the back which also was perfect because Leo is going to start his piano tuning business in his retirement years. We wish the best for Leo and his family in his retirement. He certainly deserves it. Some pictures from the party below......

Minnie's Mother's Day!
Stampin up's new tag punch called Scallop Tag Topper Punch was used for My Mom's card this year. I love this new punch is so versatile. My mother has a collection of Minnies so I decided to make her a card with Minnie and Mickey!! I saw this card on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try. Click HERE for the video on how this card was done. Just a little measuring and then just decorate!
The inside gives you plenty of space for the sentiment and more decorating. I had some ribbon with Minnie's ears and bow left over from some scrapbooking it did last year so used it for the tie. The dies for Mickey and Minnieare from ProvoCraft.
I made a couple more of these Tag Topper cards but haven't finished decorating them. May is a busy card month with birthdays and next weekend we have a bridal shower in the family so many ways to use these cards. Thanks for looking!!

Little Easter Baskets
My sister and I made these cute little Easter baskets yesterday for Easter. Our SU demonstrator, Cathy Britton, showed us how to make them at our last SU party. Really easy and quick to make. Just take 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch cardstock and score at 1 1/2 inch and 3 inch mark. Turn the cardstock just on turn and score again at the same measurements. Then cut on the score lines until the horizontal score line intersects. There should be 2 cuts made. Turn the cardstock 2 turns and do the same. Your cardstock should look like the picture below---
Then angle the sides of the cut sections as shown below. You can add the little bunnies to the side and embellish as in the first picture and check out the back of the bunnies in picture also below.
I finished up this card, I know it is early but a friend of mine's name is Betti and she is always putting Betti Boop stuff on FB so I thought I would make her a Memorial Day card. She is a greeter for troops going and coming out of Portsmouth, NH. She so good about being there whenever she can to meet and greet the troops. I will wait and mail this to her with thanks for all she does for our troops!!
I saw the punch art on pinterest and here is a link to the punches that she used. I changed the curls to a sizzlet I had, I think, called flourishes and I didn't have a lip punch she I used she a small circle. The card itself opens up so I can add the sentiment inside and the style is a sizzix die, see below for more pictures. The flap was added because the sizzix die didn't seem big enough for the sentiment. I think it came out pretty good! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Easter!!!

50 Candles on your Cake!
Another 50th birthday and another card in the box card! You have to read the sentiment on the back of the card which is in the picture below because it all ties in together with the fireman and too many candles on your cake!! My sister's boyfriend is turning 50 next month, so to throw him off guard, we are giving him a surprise birthday party this weekend. I am so proud of myself that I made his card early because usually I am doing this at the last minute. But when you have an idea you run with it. We, actually, forgot his birthday last year but we will make up for this year with this surprise. By the time, we finish he will have wished that we all had forgotten it this year!!
The fireman is punch art from Ellen Kemper's blog. She does a great job telling you what to use for punches to make Mr.Fireman and I had tons of fun putting him together. I made candles from the SU bird punch in the middle and then sizzix's birthday cake and candles for the front. Check out more pictures below for the sentiment and closer looks of the side of the card. Happy 50th Birthday Lenny and many more!!
