Tom's Birthday

Had to share this quick, cute Mickey card for my brother-in-law's birthday that was last Friday, August 16th.  He is an avid collector of all things Mickey. I thought he might get a kick out of this one because who doesn't love Mickey! I used nestabilities for the circles and SU punches for the sentiment. Like I said, "quick and easy".  Happy Birthday Tom!

Lobster Pot

I saw this card on pinterest and laughed right out loud!  In my office, one of my co-workers is leaving so I thought this would be a great card for her.  It was a hit!  She loved it and actually one of the other girls wanted me to make it for her boyfriend for his birthday because he worked in a lobster pound.  The inside message says "We are going to miss you!" Check out this card from pinterest.  There were no directions regarding what punches to use so  I used the following: lid-large oval, cut in half and word window (only the tip) for the knob; pot-square nestability with the corners rounded; handles-buckle punch which I cut in half; the lobster is from sizzix.  I added black pearls for the corners of the card for a little more decoration.

It has been a summer of lobsters for sure!  My birthday was last weekend and we had a small pool party with family to celebrate two of my sisters birthdays  (Adrianne and Andrea) as well as mine.  Lots of fun and the weather cooperated!!!  We hate to see the summer go! Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Birthdays

July and August are big birthday months with family and friends!  Love making birthday cards! Birthday cards for my brother, sister and my bestie, Mary!

Love the pearls on the flowers!
Love my new Gazebo from Spellbinders! I used the mini Tilda with the balloon-she fit perfectly! MS punch fence (which I use a lot) with some cute brads, ladybug, bumble bee and can you see the dragonfly?  Memory  box bird and Savannah border.  The grass is from, I think, Die-namics!  Love the funky fold style of card. Happy Birthday Andrea!

Spells MARY!

I wanted to try a waterfall slide card.  How perfect that my girlfriend's name is Mary!  Just 4 letters and perfect for this kind of card.  Directions for this card was done by Dawn. She does a great video explaining it.
Pull the yellow ribbon!
Back of the card!
Last but not least is my brother, Hal. His passion is baseball but I have done so many baseball cards for him on his birthday that I thought I would do his second passion, golf!  Love this card that I saw on pinterest.  I couldn't find any directions for it so I just winged it.  It is punch art which is a passion of mine. I used the paisley nestabilities die to start and had to cut it down to a club, which I did freehand.  The club was all done freehand. The tee is from SU build a blossom punch and the ball is just the circle nestability.  "Happy Birthday" is a sizzix die.  Check out the inside message-found on the internet.  Happy Birthday Hal!

Love the punch art!

Happy Birthday Adrianne!

I made a birthday card (see below) for my sister, Adrianne's birthday on Tuesday.  Here is a picture of her when she was 2 years old.  We lived in Saco on Wildwood Drive and she was adorable!  I used one of my Tilda stamps which reminds of Adrianne.

This is called center step card (I think).  I put a door on the back with a swag of flowers and Tilda sitting with her Happy Birthday sign.  Flowers are from SU Mixed Bunch.  I love this set!!  The fence is MS border punch and the grass is a die from Die-namics.  The purple dragonfly is from eyelet outlet.  Tilda was colored with copic markers and the SU punch used for the happy birthday sign. Tilda is sitting on sizzix's brick embossing folder.  Gonna put this is in the mail tomorrow so Adrianne will hopefully get it for her birthday on the 23rd.  Happy Birthday Adrianne!!!  See you soon for your gift!! Love you!

Day Trip

Today in Maine was so  hot and steamy that my husband and I decided to head downeast for a breeze somewhere!!  We went to Five Islands for their yummy lobster rolls and a beautiful view.  We took our dog,
Gretel, who enjoyed a little ice cream on the trip.  The temperature read from our car 83 at Five Islands which was a lot better than the 95 it read when we got home in Falmouth.

We met some people from Salt Lake City and Los Angeles who are here for the month of July.  They love it here in Maine and I think they told me that they have been coming to Maine for 3 years now.  Gretel was a big hit with them because they missed their 2 dogs which are home.  On the way back home, we stopped at Reid State Park.  I have never been to Reid State Park and wanted to just drive around and see the park before it closed. It is a beautiful park and will have to come back another day to spend the day there. Check out the pictures below of the park.

Turn here for Reid State Park
Beautiful beach
Let's picnic!
When we were going thru Yarmouth and Cumberland, we were behind this guy on his bike.  I think he was headed for the parade in Yarmouth. The Yarmouth Clam Festival starts tonight with a big parade and he was going to participate I'm sure.  It is going to be another hot one tomorrow--So keep cool!!

Heading to the parade start

Summer Fun!

Dew Drop Inn
Summer Fun at Pequawket Lake again this summer!!  My friend, Cindy and her husband, have a beautiful camp on the lake which we went to this past weekend. We had so much fun in the lake, on the lake,  and beside the lake. Cindy's grandson was up and he was a little doll!  I think he would be happier as a fish! The lake was a busier than I have seen in years past, I think, because it was the 4th of July weekend and everyone was enjoying the beautiful weather we had last week!

Preparing to snorkel!
Aaron the fish!
Cindy is a great cook!  Check out the food display--especially the ribs!  The meat just fell off the ribs! Sooooo Good!!!  Great company and great food!  Another fun year with the Esty's!! Thanks again!

She smoked them!

20th Anniversary

Today is my sister's 20th Wedding Anniversary!  I can't believe it has been 20 years!  We are headed to Longhorn Steakhouse to celebrate with Chris and Tom!!  Happy Anniversary to such a wonderful couple!!

I made a fun fold card with memory box's butterfly, Tim Holtz clock die and Dee's Distinctively leaves. The paper is Graphic 45 and the flower is from Prima. I added some pink pearls and a "Little Whimsies" blue heart. Check out the inside below-

Sizzix, MS corner punch and SU punch to finish the inside of the card.  Happy to report that I used my new Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers for the envelope.  So easy to use, I just love it!!!
